Jus' to explain to the people who are askin' why folk are takin' offence to this, it's more complicated than it might seem..or at least there's more to it than jumpin' to conclusions or bein' melodramatic.

Whether the OPs intentions were innocent or not (I'm not sayin' they were or weren't) but typically when a post like this comes up in any/all games, it's generally a ''I have a +10 set w/ the rarest gems, legendary swords 2b coins and am a lvl cap and never spent a penny. How much have you wasted to be at half my progress?'' or some such mockery or brag.

So, innocent or not, it's easy to see how people can take offence. Even easier to see how it's the people who have spent money, typically the victims of such abuse, more so and the people who have spent nothin' are ok w/ it.

The reply to that is good for you I have a real life.

    <3 sai lol

and what i think is interesting is that all the people who spent nothing are so curious to see how much others spent. why?

and excuse me for being a bit squeamish when i see something that will lead to the inevitable e-peen waving, item comparing argument of "you're a loser; you spent so much money" versus "you're a loser; you spent so much time/effort," and it's usually the ones that don't spend who discuss it in a bragging and condescending manner.

Thank you, you just said exactly what I was talking about. This was my main point, not that the OP was bad for asking but that maybe not everyone wants to say how much you spend because you don't want to get judged. That's why i'm being hypersensitive (if u want to call it that). To the OP and many of u who think i'm taking this way too seriously, I at least had to decently to respond like a mature person instead of name-calling. It goes both ways, so don't worry OP and others who agree with her, I won't be coming back to this thread.

Well in the 2-3 months i've been playing, I think I've spent about $800-$1000, but then again I love to support games I love, and I will continue to do so, but most likely in buying with in game coin instead now that its easy to farm the good stuff ^^ (in case anyone wonders thats for a lvl 70 BM and my 65 veno)

b:angry Annoyed that the super inventory and bank stones came out after I spent the first $20. b:angry

That's the worst when you spend real monies on CS stuff. You buy up goodies, then the next week they get released cheaper, or better, or in bundles. Not a hassle for ingame buyers, who can jus' resell for the same coin, but a right kick in the teeth for those who poured their wage into it x.x

    Hmm, right around $100.

Now people complain oh you spent $100 on this game or you spent $10,000 on this game. Why? You have no life, etc etc.

Put it to you this way, that $100 went to a hobby I enjoy. If I didnt have a video game to play I'd probably be back out on the streets doing things I shouldn't. Live in the projects all your life, get into that life, then want out. I bet you'll be willing to spend money into this game to in order to keep you outta jail and such.

But thats why Ive spent money on this game.

My money has gone to mounts, CHARM PACKS(note how I said that), reset notes, and other little things.

Sure one person could have gained the in-game coin to do so. But not everyone cares to grind for a week to make money to buy that shiney new mount or to get them reset scrolls after they f'd there stats in lower levels.

And another thing, Im willing to bet atleast a quarter of these people who have said they spent $0 on this game are lying lol....

I agree. People will spend thousands of pounds of a nice new mountain bike, or hundreds of pounds on a playstation3, then several more hundred on new games and parts, others will spend thousands to go on a holiday that lasts 10 days, and folk spend tens of thousands on drugs, alcohol abuse and various other hobby-related things.

Then say we're stupid for spendin' money on a game that we can play all year round, legally, have fun, socialise as well as anyone else and enjoy watchin' your efforts grow?
We must be fools, to be sure!!

Either that or we saw that people spend money on their hobbies all the time anyways; we're no different. Why do the people who play subscrition games never get slated, exactly?

Personally, I go by the guide that I'll buy [CS currency] for CS goods, and I'll keep my [ingame currency] for ingame goods. I'd hate to think I'd buy gold, sell it for coin and then a new CS bundle came out, or that I spent all my coin buyin' gold and then found a brilliant ingame item that I could no longer afford. It's the logic I run by, it works for me. I spend whenever I see fit, really, or in some rare cases, will get the CS currency to sell for a fast jolt of money for that beautiful new weapon thas jus' out of my price range.

I've not even played PW a week yet and spent some money on it. I know It'll be worth it, to me. :)

The fact is, for all I have spent, i'm still spending LESS in PWI (which has become my only MMO now) than I had been previously while playing multiple P2P MMO's.

I'm also a former heroin Addict and spent a significant amount of money on THAT addiction to the tune of $100-200 dollars a day. I'd rather be addicted to an MMO, spend a few hundred a month and have FUN doing it (usually), than EVER go back to my former life of stupidity.

I have had people chastise me in game for what i've spent on my Legendary pets, the mounts i've bought and sold and given away etc and I just have to laugh. Looking back on what I used to do.. and what I do now. MMO's were in many ways a life saver for me. They grabbed my attention away from things that were far more destructive and dangerous to me when I was cleaning up my life from the sewer I had made it into.

So.. while I might be a bit of a grumbly, cantankerous **** now and then, and generally don't tolerate stupidity too well (my own included)... Considering where I came from.. i'm doing well.. so laugh if you want about what i've spent... but consider this.. It's my money. I earn it by working my butt off, and if I want to spend a few hundred a month on a game rather than on dope.. i'm a hell of a lot better off doing that.

Tren makes a very good point. /agree. First off, I come from subscribtion based games, so I was paying a monthly fee anyways. Spending some money on this game doesn't really feel any different. Secondly, being the MMO addict I am, I don't mind spending some money in the CS to get things that make my game-life easier. Especially considering the fact that I really don't have anything to do at my house if I'm not playing the game, I'd probably end up at the bar, and thats money on drinks, pool, jukebox, whatever, that I'll never see again.

Spend your money on whatever you want. If you enjoy it, do it. No point *not* spendin' money in spite of whether you want to or not jus' cuz people slate you for it. Like Saitada says..people spend money on a lot more stupid things than MMOs, which, for all it seems to be a remarkably foolish thing to spend money on, how many folk notice that MMOs continue on strong and remain quite invulnerable to this big credit crunch that's bringin' virtually every other company on the planet to their knees? Must be a fair few idiots out there willin' to spend money on such a stupid thing /sarcasm

To those of you that are spending lots of money, good for you (especially the cases where you have addictive personalities and having this hobby is a lot healthier than previous alternatives).

I have spent $0 on the game to date, but I have been planning all along to start spending once I get my tt90 gear. Since i doubt the dragon orb sale will happen again in the next 3 months, I guess I will be buying a safe ext stone or two as well as enough orbs to get my future tt90 gear refined to +4/+6 or so) now that they are on sale.

Most other games out there charge ~$50 to buy the game and $15-$20 a month, so I would have spent around $100 so far on any other game, guess it is about time for me to make that differential up.

    Thas the beauty, I think!
Bein' able to pay, or not pay as you see fit, rather than bein' forced to pay for a subscription game. The freedom is great, especially in the handful of games that allow, or even encourage freely the CS (and it's currency) in-game.

$0. I've got nothing to spend. Lol. >>

I would've started spending several hundred a month if it hadn't been for the Charm Pack fiasco. They're going to have to pull off some unbelievably cool events for me to change my mind. (And by the way, these events still suck. You have yet to learn how to host a REAL event. But better than "raffles".)

I don't find it silly to spend lots of money on a game you enjoy. Everyone has a hobby they turn into their own personal money sink. Why not PWI? Lol. It's their money. If this is where they get their kicks, good for them. There are other things they can do with the money that would be better off never stated.

Thanks to all who replied and it is interesting to see how much people spend.

I noticed a comment about the giggle sign that I made in my original post. It was not meant to mock others who spent money but actually the opposite. It was meant to laugh at me who has not spent any money even though I wish I could. I would love to spend real cash on this game but currently at this moment am not able to based on Real Life responsibilities like bringing life into this world costs a lot when you are not used to having those types of expenses.

For the people who spent money on the game that is top notch to you as well even though some have taken offence to my question. If it was not for you I am sure this game would not be as good since the PW company would not have much money to keep upgrading.

Attacking the OP for other people's ignorance and immaturity is bull. You can just ignore the thread if you wish to keep such information private or fear being flamed. If someone is "upset" over having spent real life money on something another player spent nothing to get, then that shows their own personal issues with their spending habits. I personally enjoy things like this. Why? The more someone spends on the game is equivalent to the more they like it. That's something I find very interesting, and I'm sure others would enjoy as well.

by all means, go ahead and spend money, im actually glad people pore money into this game, or i wouldnt be able to enjoy it because PWI would go out of business. but some people dont realize its not neccesary to spend any real life money in this game, everything is achievable through ingame planning.

and to the one with the heroin addiction, gl man. bunch of my friends are in and out of rehab habitually. sucks, but thats why i stay away from the drugs, dont touch em, never will. stupidest mistake i can make in my life.

I have spent $50 on mount, safe/inv extension stone so far, but have no plan to spend more beside charms unless something like housing comes out. I do not have problem to spend $30/$40 a month on any game, but F2P game is different than P2P game. In P2P game, no one can get advantage by spending more, how good you are in game entirely depends on how much time you spend and how good you are at gaming . But in this game and most other F2P game, there is no way you can compete with those big money spender if you cannot over spend them or at least spend a amount close to what they have spent unless they are really bad at gaming (99.99% of them are actually better gamer than most of us). I know a lots of player may not believe this, but please tell me how can you win a battle with a player at same level but has a full set of +8 armors with beautiful shards in every piece of them? But F2P game did took advantage of older player off in some degree, if a new player willing to spend money and time, they can catch up older player much easier than in P2P games.
