I've been trying to update to patch 68, to no avail. The auto-update fails, and the manual update file tells me "Update files corrupted!" most of the way through updating.
Any suggestions? :P[sigpic][/sigpic]

Will be tasks.data and element.data first though the manual patch is at 54% and has been for a while! Too... many... people... hitting... it! >.>[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
it has ALWAYS failed for me from the beginning of the game i cant update till some kind soul uploads the patch to an offsite hosting place...if they do that it will work for you too im sure0

I had a friend upload tasks.data and elements.data files for me.
I downloaded and put them in where they belong but the Autopatcher NOW gets hung up on a file called "iconlist_guild.dds"
So now, not only do you need to give us those 2 files but we also need iconlist_guild.dds in a .rar file with elements and tasks!

WHY DO THE GM's Upload to their crappy website with manual download links that timeout just as much as their crappy autouploader?!?!?!!??!?!?!?!??!!

Can you maybe tell me where the file is located? I maybe blind but can't see it. b:sad
Try restarting the patcher and launcher when it gets stuck for now I am trying to work on something to get this up.
EDIT: Got the manual patcher working now so will upload it to Mediafire.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I think this file must be split up after downloading by the patcher, because my friend couldn't find the file that it keeps getting hung up on either.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

All the ******** I have to go through every time to patch this game is the main reason.

Is it really too much to ask for the GM's to upload the new patch not only to their website manual patch links but to at least 1 Mirror manual patch link??
I mean seriously, MOST of the people who have to manually patch this game ALSO have to use Mirror links because the PW Website and Autoupdater system both hang up on us when we try to DL any large files from them.
Seeing the GM's post that has the file avialble on manual patch website but NOT any mirror site, really angers me.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

But, thanks Aryanna for uploading to a third-party site... But I'm still hanging on auto-update on elementskill.dll, and that's where I get "Update files corrupted!", even with your .cup file from Mediafire. b:cry
I have one more computer to try updating from before I spend my day on another MMO and come back to PWI tomorrow. b:shocked[sigpic][/sigpic]

No one has suggestions on how to manually (i.e. without a cup file b:sad) patch to 68? None of my computers will successfully patch from 62.
I have a ticket open for this, but considering that I have other tickets opened (and unresponded to...), I don't hold out much hope in hearing back on it. b:surrender[sigpic][/sigpic]

It's a 6mbit x 768kbit ADSL line. (We can't justify the 10mbit x 1.5mbit ADSL2 line yet, sadly...) Considering that I just managed to download the Windows 7 Beta (for something unrelated, don't worry! b:laugh), a 3+ GB file, with absolutely zero issues (and at a speed close to theoretical maximum), I'd say my line's fine.
Also, isn't the point of the .cup file to avoid connection issues? And if it were really a connection issue, I don't see how it would always fail on the same exact file, across multiple installations... It sounds more like something's wonky, and the updater's choking on it. I would be unsurprised if it's related to my previously-reported "I have to verify the client numerous times before I can play each time, since patch 60" issue...
I realize that this is probably much better suited to a trouble ticket, but it seems that my tickets are doomed to go unanswered and my only recourse is the forum. b:sad[sigpic][/sigpic]

We are working through the emails. Patience please. We were up late making sure the new patch went through ok, albeit with a few surprises here and there.
Granted, some emails may go unanswered for up to 3 days sometimes (weekends, holidays, Tech Support ONLY), but we usually have them replied to in under 8-24 hours.
Depends on the shifts, and who is working.
If you sent in a ticket, please be patient for us to answer it.

I have submitted both Customer Service and Tech Support tickets for a couple of different issues. I'm trying to be patient.Try a few tests on here: http://www.speedtest.net/

For whatever reason, the Flash applet they use to test with reliably gives me about 10% slower speeds than any other speed test site on the net.Have you tried all of the manual patch mirrors that we have?
I've tried all the downloads for 62-68, all culminating in the same screen as I screenshotted (and on the same file each time, which is the same one which fails with the automatic update). And, again, it's doing this on both XP and Vista, if I forgot to mention that earlier...
For completeness, here's a screenshot of the automatic updater's failure. Just before, it's trying to update elementskill.dll.Have you tried trouble shooting your networking issues?
As far as I can tell, this is NOT a networking issue. If you believe it is, please point me at something relevant to the issue.
As far as I can tell, I am having no connectivity issues to elsewhere on the internet. I'd do a thousand packets of ping to ensure that there's no packet loss to your servers, but you drop ICMP traffic. :P
Again, for completeness, here's a pair of traces from my network; one machine is behind my router, the other is not. As you can see, everything looks fine and I get some fantastic pings to the closest responding server.

Hopefully I've given enough info to give someone a clue as to what's going on, since I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm half-tempted to go and delete elementskill.dll from my installs and see if the updater freaks...[sigpic][/sigpic]

Anyhow, I deleted elementskill.dll and the update applied fine. b:victory Why? Who knows? But, hopefully, this will help someone else who's having the issue...
Is it normally safe to just delete whichever file's causing the updater to puke?

No you were quite lucky. Most of the files which are in the patch are not named the same after being incoorporated into the client.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
