You'll probably want to drop by a Blacksmith to buy more arrows.

To upgrade your stats, go to the Character Screen ("C" key). It should look as follows :

    increasedex.jpg

The information in the Green box lists how many spare points you have. Each level awards you with 5 points. By clicking the up arrow near the Dexterity box, labelled red in the above image, you can increase that stat in exchange for one of your Attribute Points. Clicking Done (labelled light blue) will finalize that.

Dexterity improves damage done through ranged weapons, critical hit chance, dodge chance, and hit chance.

Note that you may not want to simply dump every point you get into Dexterity -- as an archer you get quite a lot from it, but you'll also need a bit of Strength to keep up with the newest Light Armor. You may or may not want to put a few points into Vitality (for the extra health) or Magic (for the extra mana).

I have made quite a few archers to try the builds out.
All are deleted except the high dexterity archer which is by far the best and is now my main character I play.....my advice is :

Put enough strength to allow you to wear the better light armor.
Put the rest of your points into dexterity.
No points into magic....use equipment that raises manna and magic.
I dont put any...or very little into vitality because your mob should be dead before it gets near you.....if not run away and fire at a distance again.

Personally I think the manna an archer uses is out of balance in the game so if you have a lot of health and fighting a not so high level mob just attack with normal attack...F1 to save manna for tougher mobs. Use potions to increase HP recovery too so you dont use up your manna too quickly.

Archer takes some time to get used to but is a challenge and great to play.

Personally, I put some points into vitality and magic when I was low level. They helped me recover from combat and helped me when I was flying.

I now have enough levels and (barely) good enough gear that I no longer benefit enough from those stats. So I now have 3 vitality and 3 magic.

Anyone not resetting will be missing out on four points of dexterity. And I am not sure if reset notes will do anything for stats that you have not raised.
