Hey I'm almost 80. The time to get there, hell indeed hours more than a would normally spend on a game.
Yet I did.
But lvl 90+ within the time of the servers been out?
Is there secret? I know about Zhen... yea yea.
But rlly I need over 3.4 million exp just at lvl 79 to get to 80 in total.
Hell do these guys work or go to school or even leave the house?
I find it hard to believe the hours I put in and there is 90+ even 95+ wow.
I could assume maybe it is played by multiple people per char? within intervals of time lol?
I used to do drugs, I still do but I used to too.

Dailys are what in the 80's, 200k exp for World quest, 150-200k for crazy stone depending on level, throw in a cube of fate run could be 300-400k exp and thats 650k to 800k a day on that alone, and you dont have to be online that much time per day. Through in some fb runs/zhen/aoe parties with miji etc its not that crazy. I'm sure people have played longer then you and more hours a day then you also.

Most of the top players no life, you should know that lol there are ALWAYS no lifers at the top of any game.. of course getting there is a combo of both time and skill.. I mean people dont give enough credit to top players, theyre just "oh, if I had the same time as you Id be there too", no you wouldnt, they know how the game works and how to do it the fastest way

Look I was 60 like 1.5 week after the game started (was still on holidays).. it just takes alot of patience and dedication lol, I wouldnt do it again, too boring, but it was a short term goal, so I had to try it

The thing is you pretty much have to grind your **** off, no dead times, if you are not earning exp youre wasting time, thats the basic mentality (except for time spent in hh runs to farm better equip)

For example, with my cleric when the blessing was here I was getting 10% per hour at 77 (thats 250K for the record) on the dragonmaids north of sanctuary.. all it takes is nonstop killing and xp scrolls b:surrender

I beleive that hitting the level cap in any MMO is a result of :

    ** Extreme Joblessness, or
    ** Extreme Determination , or
    ** Mix of both.

I lack both, the extent of joblessness and the amount of determination. So I know, I'll never hit the lvl cap in any game. :P

you can hit 20 in GW in a weekend thats why I dont play it. it would take forever to hit cap in this game. I dont think I could see anyone actually spending that much time on the game, especially since there are so few quests later on. I mean eventually grinding has to get a little boring even for the most determined player.

I find this game ridiculously easy to lvl on, but thas cuz I came from a game where the quests stop a day into the game and it's sheer, mindless grind the entire way up; and it gets really, really, really long at lvl cap
Don't get me wrong, I'm still new to this game and learnin' and all, but there are a lot of games that are crazy easy to lvl, and then some which are jus' grindfests. This one seems like that, but at least there are quests to boot it up, and still enough ingame content to keep you occupied. I got bored of the other game because it was purely a grindfest game w/ PvP that got really borin', really fast...

You need to remember that GW isn't designed around grinding levels. The game really begins at Level 20, and everything before it is essentially preparation for the full game. It's clever because it puts every player on the same playing field, and level difference is not an issue. Any player can take on any of the game's challenges (quests, missions, eilte areas, etc.), with the differences being what skills that have obtained and what equipment they have. Therefore, GW is suited the casual player who does not have the hours to put into grinding levels.

Many players new to GW ask about the low level cap without understanding why the game even has a level cap. It's not there as a goal; it's there as a starting point.

This game's grinding and skill points definitely reminds me of EQ's XP and AA, probably why I like it so much. Both are hellaciously long.
That and the fact it's quests/dungeons are about as hard at times.
The TW thing is a nice addition, and definitely creates a world of political possibilities. (consider it another grind)

To be frank, I find it highly offensive to accuse people who spend a few hours per day on a game of having no life. What do you know of those people to make such a claim anyway? What does constitute people having "no life"? Them being unemployed? And if yes, why do those people have "no life" - just because they are currently not fitting into your own little ideal of how a human must lead his or her life to be viewed as valuable? They couldn't be able to get a job for any number of reasons, including them being disabled, sick or having an education that's currently not wanted by companies. Does any of this mean that they're worthless as per the meaning of you calling them "no-lifers"?

Other then unemployment, there are of course more reasons why people can spend more hours on a game than others, including:
    - stay at home parents
    - people on a sabbatical or who took longer holidays.
    - people who _have_ a job but are on stand-by duty, so they can play during that time to fight boredom
    - *gasp* people who prefer playing a game over going to smoke-laden bars where they have to spend $20 for each drink.
    - some countries have half-day schools/colleges

All those people are probably not having "a life" either, huh? The stereotypical anti-social person living in their momma's basement which they don't leave except for buying cigarettes probably exists too. But perhaps ask yourself whether or not this type of person is actually the minority in the group you're referring to as "no-lifers" next time...

Maybe some ppl have no life true however take into account as stated in other posts the daily quests help alot those that are lvl 90+ probably do not have a life or there boting big time many have been cought many others will be cought just a matter of time b:laugh but then there are honest players also who know how to lvl a little faster than most, do justice quests whenever possible not only do you get exp fast but make gold from drops 2 hrs a day with the daily quests your in good shape to lvl as a lvl 80 archer I find Zhening a waste arrows cost alot mp charms at 4$ dont last that long and not all drops go to you compared to grinding solo with justice quests all drops go to you mp hp charm lasts a long time if you know how to combine them with potions you make they last extra long time b:pleased

I agree enough w/ that. Why does playin' computer games constitue as havin' no life? I go to work, do a shift and come back home, and like to relax and play a good and fun game w/ a beer and some dinner.
That's havin' no life? I socialise w/ thousands of people online, practice my insane typin' skills and focus my energies into a long-term hobby and in-game goal.
What about the people who go out and play football or rugby then come home shattered and go to sleep?
Or who go into a bar and burn a *lot* more money on booze than most people would in any one night one an MMO?
How is that havin' a life, and playin' a game not?

Not really takin' offence or w/e...jus' could never really ken the ''you play games, you have no life'' thing...

It's not in general if you play you have no life.
It is in the first place what I started it as the activity of high players.
Like I said I put an imaginable amount of hours for a game* and still not lvl 80. Also 98% of my entire time when I log on is leveling. I also play every day and always grind with exp scrolls.
IT just amazed me I thought I played a lot to only up staged already by lvl 90+

I dont know why people are getting so offended about the "no life" thing... its just an expression, of course it doesnt matter what you do, as long as you are here you obviously have a life, and its up to each person to decide how to live theirs

Gaming is no worse than watching tv, or reading, or whatever... At least you get to meet new people and socialize a bit (some of them you might even meet in person later on, which isnt rare)

Also there a million reasons why someone could play this game so much, maybe theyre on holidays, maybe theyre unemployed, maybe they have some health problem... There are so many circumstances, dont judge someone just because they play more than you

This said, I "no life" for the most part.. I even hide my characters from most so they dont think Im a freak (and will do it here as well), and its none of the reasons above, its just that my schedule is incredibly light, and I dont really have a better way to spend my free time atm (no gf or anything) so, I play

Getting 90 is pretty fast if you have people to grind with and access to the best xp spots in game (those spots are often hogged by the bigger guilds).
But if youre in a full grindparty with 6 people u get about 200% (or maybe its even 250% dont remember) experience compared to grinding alone. The more people in the party the more xp boost per kill. Even grinding 3 people is alot better xp than soloing (unless they afk half the time).

Thats how people can go from 80 to 90 in 2-3 weeks. Grindparties are actually better xp than zhen mostly and alot cheaper for archers, clerics and wizards. Zhen is really just fast lvl 60-75 at YDK and most people cant afford the huge amount of mp charms u need for it anyway.

At lvl 80 i was getting about 7-8% per hour in grindparty, than it slows down to 3-4% at late 8X. But u really dont have to play 12 hours a day, just need 5 people to lvl with everytime u grind b:chuckle.

Hmm... Actually I consider myself as one having "no life", but it isn't really accurate. I guess I pretty much play PW all day, but I'm an at home mom with a non-verbal autistic (with MR) son. He's almost 11 and goes to school in a special class (with three other autistics) and is there like all the other kids for a full school day, but when he is home he is highly aggressive and destructive and cannot be left alone because he cannot take care of himself, so I sit with him pretty much all afternoon and evening and every weekend. I play on my computer and he plays on his computer or lines up cars or plays with strings of beads or whatever he wants. But he cannot be left alone, so here I sit. I've only been playing PW since November and already I am highly addicted and have three characters! So, in my case it really is a case of someone playing with "no life"! b:laugh
I'm taking my time leveling though... "Enjoying the journey" I guess you'd say... b:pleased

(Just remember if you run into me in game, if I don't respond to you and are standing still I'm probably changing a diaper or solving a crisis!)

You only get ''too much'' if the player in question thinks themselves that it's too much, or that it literally gets in the way of other (more important?) things. As far as I'm concerned, goin' to the pub every night 'too much' is a lot worse than sittin' at home playin' a game 'too much'.
But yeah..games are a ***** to play up to high lvls; usually slow. You need to put in the hours to get the lvls. So either they've been at it a long time, or have a good grindin' mentality (time w/ no exp is wasted time), but at least there's plenty of content to occupy you. Go play FlyFF and see how long it takes you to hit lvl cap over there, but notice how sheerly bored you'll get because of the absence of quests or, indeed anythin' fun, to do outside of the weekly half-hour long Guild Seige that can only be realistically participated in by aforementioned high lvls.

True in a way, but I would guess this pertains to only about 15-25% of the high lvlers in PW. The rest of them, they either play from the beginning of the release or play really well is all.
You would also notice that 1/3 are them are veno's usually as they are a class that is easier to level.

It is possible to play too much, ppl forget that. Having face 2 face interactions and relationships is VERY important to growth, maturity, and development. This is because the interactions you have online aren't real. Ppl aren't really who they say they are, they dont act the same, look the same, say the same things, nor any of that. Personas change online and that is a pure fact of life. Replacing face 2 face interactions with online ones is socially, and psychologically, unhealthy.

Spending a few hours a day on a game isnt bad. And I know quite a few married ppl who are high levels as well. Instead of watching the news when the kids are in bed, or cleaning the house 24/7 while the hubby is at work, they play PW. Makes sense to me, and I don't see a problem with it.

Then there are others who literally eat, work, play pw, and sleep. I'd call this unhealthy. You should be able to socialize with people around you, instead of through a tube. Not to mention the strain on your eyes. Go out on the weekends, have fun with your friends, play a sport, get some exercise, meet a fine member of the opposite sex (or same sex as the case may be), and generally enjoy life. Whatever you do, don't log in 10+hours of PW daily.

That being said, not all high levels are no lifers. There are some I'm sure, but its an unfair generalization to make. They might only play a few hours a day, but have been around since day 1. No way of knowing, peace.
