sommetimes i get bored and cast a vanguard spirit on random people around me
but sometimes i see a non-cleric with all buffs running around and wondered
if they paid clerics to do that for them
im like low lvl and dont really know if the buffs get real expensive(mp wise)
when maxed

not really it takes about 700-800 mp to fully buff 1 person with lvl 10 buffs but compared to your overall mp its not much so no ppl don't pay for buffs but you will see alot of ppl come up to you and ask for them0

I never charge for buffs. I don't understand charging for buffs. Heck, if I'm flying by someone I see engaged in combat, I often buff them just for the heck of it.0
-
At higher levels you can often trade buffs just by going near someone and saying hi, which is beneficial to both parties... BM and venos have buffs... I know that I can often fly up near one of them and get a nice bramble or attack buff, while providing them with a nice prot buff.0

I think anyone who plays and likes playing a cleric will buff people because it is in their nature.0

True nightyne. ^^0

Not to be rude nightyne, but although your thought is nice and utopian, it's that kind of thought process that stereotypes classes. I play a cleric, but that doesn't mean that I like helping random people out randomly for no reason. If someone asks, sure I'll buff them unless they're one of those idiots that asks me when I'm in the middle of killing 3 mobs and then goes like "Um... hello?". I mean seriously, do you expect me to stop and type out "Sure" and then buff you and just let those mobs attack me? But no, going out of my way and helping is in no way on my "To do" list, unless they're guildies or friends. Or I'm in the mood because the person who asked was just so nice
Sorry to be so rude, but I utterly HATE stereotypes.0 -
Every class has buffs, even mages and archers. (But some people's buffs can only be used on people in their squad.)0

I used to heal/rez/buff anyone that asked. I loved to do it. And I still do. But, just like I was told I would, I did get tired of the no appreciation thing when doing it. Those cases when someone would ask for a rez, so I'd not only rez, I'd heal and buff, and they run straight off into another battle just to die again a few minutes later.
If someone asks for something, they sure as heck need to be thanking and respecting the person that did what they asked. If I'm bored or waiting on a person/party then I'll still throw buffs around. But I seem to be finding myself getting irrated at the lack of appreciation.
Or maybe I'm just being cranky.0 -

I agree with you that if people ask, they should show you some appreciation.
But I know I have lots of times been randomly buffed by clerics and often I never even see whoever was buffing me. For my first few weeks, I did not even realize that someone was buffing me -- I thought those funny lights I saw were some random part of this game.
Now I try and thank people when they buff me (even when their buff eliminates another buff that I was relying on -- that makes me want to cry sometimes), but sometimes I am in combat or talking with someone else, or do not notice or whatever.
Anyways, to all you random buffers out there, I really appreciate the kind thoughts!0 -

Buffs can eliminate positive buffs on a person? How? I didn't know that.0 -
Since the only leveling I do on my cleric is the crazy stone, I tend to buff folk around Hou while I wait.Oishasan

I've noticed that the MP recovery effect from Celestial Guardian's Seal replaces the MP recovery effect gained from Focus Powder for example.0 -

Oh, interesting. I wonder, if you got buffed by Celestial Guardian first and then took focus powder, would your MP recovery be even faster?0
