Poisoned

ok...I'm just outside Arch and I get poisoned by a venomous ghoul. I end up dying cause I don't want to use up all my healing potion and chaos powder. My question is...does the poison go away with time if I can stay alive and how long, and is there anything I can get to protect my squishy butt from being poisoned in the first place or fom using up all my HP juice?

It lasts about 15 seconds or so, but it can stack many times.
The more it stacks on you the more damage it does.
It is not that hard avoiding them though just keep an eye out.
As for resistants against it, you would want wood mag def.
Other then that not much you can do.
If you don't let them stack you with the curse its not to much of a biggy.
Best way is to avoid them.
I used to do drugs, I still do but I used to too.

    Hi

The poison effect will ware off, though until then you lose health over time so your best options are to squad up with a cleric or use potions or any skill/spell that your class may have to nullify or repair the damage.

LOL! You're a barbarian. We barbarians are not squishy! b:shutup lol.

Now for the serious part. A barbarians only weakness is magic. The ghoul does magic wood damage (see the green skull over your head and the curse icon on your character description?). The curse wears off in 15ish seconds or so.

NOTE: Curses stack. So if you are taking lets assume 50dmg every few seconds from 1 ghouls curse and another curses you (or even if the same one curses you again before the first curse wears off) then you will take (50+50) 100 dmg. So stay away from groups pf mobs and attack them one by one.
I end up dying cause I don't want to use up all my healing potion and chaos powder.
What you saving them for? Later levels? You need to get to those levels first.

Well you can try magical defense jewelry or maybe even some magical def soulstones. Will definitely help reduce magical damage. %damage reduction increases a lot more for a small def increase, if you have a very low %DR to begin with.

Better than that though is to not get cursed in the first place. Go tigerform. Use the skill "alclarity of the beast". It cancels magical casts from the magical mob.
Use it as the first attack as you run to the mob. Once his casting is canceled the mob cant cast again until it cools down. During this time it uses physical attacks. Kill the mob in this time before it starts casting again (use any and all attacks you can). More than likely your alclarity is at a low level and will not cooldown as fast as the mob's casting.

    Hope this helps! b:victory

Thanks for the help!! I didn't have Alclarity at the time and didn't know about the stacking. No worries now though...heh.

I've been wondering. What happens if you're cursed, logout, and log back in? Does the curse disappear? Does your logged out character keep taking damage? When you login again, does the curse continue where it left off when you logged out? Or does the game prevent you from logging out while cursed?

Another good thing is meditate. you get healed twice as fast. and if you use a potion at the same time, you mostly survive if you aren't too low on hp yet.

Also if they are poisoning you run up and melee them.
They will stop ranged attack and start melee.

I am a BM and magic does a lot of damage to me. As someone said earlier, I would suggest getting some magic defense jewelry. I have two sets. When I know I am going to fight magical monsters I put on the magic defense jewelry. I change out to physical defense jewelry when I am going to take physical damage (but that doesn't do much damage to you). As someone else said you could squad with a cleric and most are quite helpful. Most of the time they will buff you if you ask nicely and say thank you.
