Glad I found this question.. Didn't want to repeat a question already ask.. :) For us that are really new to PWI we have questions.

When you have someone ask you to join a guild/faction and then in short (throws your character out) because you ask a couple of questions, to the one who invited you. It leaves a bad impression of guilds/factions.

I was under the impression that you joined a guild/faction to help out. So the 3 questions I ask were :

    1. The compound question of this topic. If we pick up something is there a place to store it so someone else in the guild/faction can use it and if not how do I find others that belong to the guild/faction I joined.

    2. I am on usually in the mornings and early afternoon will that work for helping out? Again, i thought that is why you joined a guild/faction in the first place.

    3. If I want to give something to someone in the guild is there a way to tell them where I left it.

Right after that the guild name disappeared from below my character name. Please do not ask the guild/faction name because I am not going to get into that.

    Thanks....

maybe the first post has been edited but it seems like his question was not answered.

It depends what you want out of a faction, some are there for general fun and assistance in questing etc. Some are there solely for classes ie venos to help them get rare pets and level. Others do TT, zhenning, FBS and TWS and there generally the most busy ones because they can gain mass exp and also TWs grant money and most guilds pay those who do and sometimes dont take part. ^_^

I for one, my faction we offer assistance in questing, grinding, fbing etc. But on the side for higher levels we offers constand TT runs and constant zhenning sessions, each lasting two hours minimum. We soon will be TWing but were waiting until our members are high enough to feel comfortable. More to the point we offer a fun, safe place to play the game without feeling ganged up on, belittled due to there levels or just less knowledgable than most players on game.

But with guilds you mainly get your own private chatroom, guild classes such as executioner and marshall, director. You also can Territorial war other factions to gain land and funds which come in weekly from them but other than that they do not offer guild halls etc. Not like guild wars but to be honest do we really need them :P

The only thing the game gives you for a guild is some ability to more easily communicate with people in your guild. There is a separate chat channel and a pop-up box for seeing some information about people in your guild. That's it.

Everything else depends on the guild. Some have added a lot of extras: a vent or other voice chat, a web forum, a guild bank (usually a set of characters who are ste up just to hold coin, high value items, and materials for the guild), and some commitment to help people with various difficulties. How helpful the people in the guild are or whether their schedules of play match yours are just things you have to learn from experience with them. I can't understand why a guild would kick you out for asking questions. Most guilds I've joined one of the officers quickly pointed out basics of how that guild operated (or pointed me to a web site for more info). If they dropped you that fast, you aren't missing anything. It may actually have been your level (or level of experience) that led to the quick drop. Some guilds seem to think the best way to build a strong community is to get strong members to join rather than through organic growth. Those guilds seem to always be on the brink of imploding, though, as the current highest levels get really impatient with everyone else and move away.

@second poster: The best way to exchange items with someone who is not either right next to you or close enough you can arrange to meet is the mail system. You really don't want to just drop and hope they get it. Mail costs a small amount (500 coin?) and you can send 1 item (or a stack of the same item) and coins attached to your message. It takes 1 hour in real time for your mail to be available at any post box (which are easy to find in any city).

Hope this helps. A good guild can make for a lot more enjoyable experience. So, don't let the bad experiences with those first few membership offers get you down.
