flying/riding

do people use both?
is one preferable to the other?
i am a venomancer but how do other classes keep both a ride and flying pet?
i have a 9ms panther
when i get 30 should i get a flying pet?

    at lvl 30 you'll get a quest for a flying pet. it doesn't need space in the pet bag, it's equipped in the aerocraft slot.

    riding mounts are faster, but if you use the aerocraft you can fly over high lvl mobs from town to town and don't need to teleport any more... but it takes some time^^

    i didnt know you could have a riding pet below 40 ?
    How do you get earliest and cheapest pet, is like a panther expensive ?

    You can have a riding pet from level 20 as long as you spend the money to spur it. Or buy one already spurred. For instance the polar cub and jaguar mounts you can use either at level 40 non spurred or level 20 spured. The kirin, Elk, raptor, boa, lion, black raptor there level 50/60 non spurred [think 60] and then 40 spurred. Spuring them increases there speed as well as there decrease in a level requirement so they can be indeed useful.

    my kirin is spured but my elk is not :P dunno why prefer it that way, but its on loan so if they choose to spur it even better b:laugh

    As for my choice, i like the riding mounts because there easy and essential as i seem to always be running through areas. But if there loyalty is low then it is a pain as you constantly will be knocked off them. ^_^

    But i also love my flying mount because it has numerous good things about it.

    It is fast - got the new one :P
    It can get me out of danger zones
    saves time getting across the map, no going around mountains

    and plus there is other good things, each has there own ups and downs. For ground movement i use my kirin, for air and to save time i fly places. Saves me money also :P and if i go afk i can just stay in the air in some places. Bonus! b:pleased

    I use both, too. For moving back to town after doing a quest, moving around in towns, and going to the various recluses around the place, I use my Kirin. But for longer trips between actual towns, I fly. Mostly because I can climb to height 65, point my character in the right direction, and then click the horison to fly in that direction while I go do something else. b:pleased

    Yeah, you will get a flying pet at lvl 30 and you have to have both. Because there is alot of places you just can't get to without one. So when I can I use my mount because it's faster. If I am going through a higher level than me I use my flying mount.
