max damage

so....i'm a lvl 37 archer, 149dex and 41str, and the physical damage it says i can do is 567-909, but i'm lucky if i ever do up to 650, i usually hit somewhere around 520 or b:cry. Anyone know why i can't hit anywhere near my max damage? i'd really like to be able to...i'm not seeing this whole "archers do a lot of damage" thing, because, well, i can't. If anyone has as solution/answer/suggestion, thank you in advance.

    Because the monsters have defence to use against you. :(

    You will only do that damage against a target with 0 physical defense. Try going to the starting areas and shooting at the beetles or cactii or whatever.

    With mobs your level they will have some defense against your arrows. Dont worry though.. at higher levels you will be criting more and more and will be seeing lots of numbers above your base damage.

    i know about the whole defense thing...but isn't that a bit ridiculous that there is a 300 damage difference between what it says i can hit and what i should hit? i'm pretty sure the defense on these mobs are not that high, unless they are, in which case i'll just suffer doing min damage all the time...

    It's not that ridiculous. You should be glad the raw damage the mobs can do is not applied in full either. The numbers you see are more representative of the damage you are doing than the numbers in your character profile.

    wats freaking ridiculous is the accuracy =o..... 212 dex or so... and i missed 3 times in a row against a monster wich clearly says 95%+ for the hit rate on its info bar =o...... other then that i crit very often.... my damage is like max 2.2k... and when my skills crit i can hit 4k =o... (hit 6k on lvl 1 monsters)

    im just happy there is no low max damage cap, in some SS ive seen 300k hits on a super skill by a lvl 100 or so, so im glad thers not a hardcap max thats 10k or something like some games have

    What makes archers have a high damage rate also is their high crit rate. I have killed mobs 2 levels higher than my self without them even touching me, so remember u need to know how to use your skills also.
