Dex Archer Soulgem Imbue HP or Evasion?

I am a level 54 pure dex archer. My end goal is to be very effective against a limited number of class types and accept a certain level of vunerability against magic classes.

I have heard and seen that archers imbue HP adding soulgems into armor. I'm not quite sure I understand why. If you add 500 or so HP by adding soulgems to everything, you are buying yourself 1 extra hit before death. I'm sure there is a good reason, I just can't figure it out. Can someone explain.

I have been adding evasion soulgems to everything.

    Evasion does not help you against magic attacks, that would be why.

    Would it be a bad idea to focus all my efforts against physical attack classes?

    I did plenty of pk on the game I used to play, and on MY server. Got tired of it and wanted to play PvE this time since the game had it.

    Just dont like to be forced to do anything, and LC is a FORCED PVP server, hence Heavens Tear. Having more options is always a good thing to me.

    PS, to OP:
    You will take lots of magic damage from PVPing on higher lvl or lv80+. And archers have very good physical defense/avoidance already. If you dont wanna get oneshoted by magic users, get more hp.

    Another option is to get nice elemental resist belt/necklace and a tauren chieftain cape to make up for lack of res. But HP is better all around.
