Guild: Customizing a Male Archer

Many of you have made female archers because you think male archers look ****. Well, this might help you make a better looking archer.

Hair

Ok, first of all, choose short hair. Hair should not go below the neck! Also, choose either dark brown or black as your hair color. Don't choose pink or blond or those girl colors.

Torso

Make your torso (chest) not too big but not too small. Too big will make it seam like you have **** or something. And too small will make you really skinny and that's a little girlish.

Arms

Your arms should be medium sized, not too big and not too small.

Waist

Don't make your waist small, make it a little bigger. Just big enough to look normal with the rest of your archer's body.

Legs

Your character's legs should not be skinny, either make them normal sized or make them a little chubby.

Lips

Make your lips seem real, don't color them with something that looks like lipstick.

That's mostly it for male archers. If you have any other ideas reply to this.

At first your archer may seem a little weird but once you start putting armor on, it looks awesome.

Eh, you can't help that though Envy. It hasn't been enough of a turn-off for me to cop out of my character, and I don't think I'd really enjoy playing a female archer anyway-- they just look so wimpy in armor, no matter what class.

Its all in the mind. I would never want to play a female sprite (the very reason I backed out from making a Veno when i realized they are only female). And i'm happy playing my male archer..

Yeah, the complaints about femininity of male archers was more based on the ballerina moves than the actual character models... As for following a mold for character creation, seems a little... flawed.. to me, customizing a character is about creativity and individuality, its about making a character that is truly yours. Otherwise, why not pick a name like "xXLegolasXx" and highlight the first preset character available?

Agreed, the point is to keep as many guy archers from looking like flaming homosexuals as possible.

Sadly, I didn't anticipate the game to place so much dynamic lighting on my character's lips... -.-

Really, what is that? It makes all of my characters look like theyre either incessently slobbering or have lipgloss on, neither of which is a "desirable" effect!

Perception, yes, but I don't really care how you put it, a guy archer with thin limbs, long blonde hair, huge blue eyes and eye shadow is either a cross dresser or ****.

Beauty is within the eye of the beholder they say. After browsing this guide I decided to make an Archer of my own,and take pride in his scrawny body and terribly colored scene girl hair.

    The finished product: 2008-12-2917-02-58-2.jpg

Even so,the beefy-ness of some characters is over the top for me.However,it's their character so I don't have any say.

I think the problem most people have with male archers isn't the character's design itself, it is the animations. With the great customization in this game, its possible to make anything look ok. But you spend most of your time in game fighting, so the animations are what need to look good, and male animations just don't b:chuckle

Looks do it in more for me than animations tbah. I barely notice the lightning strike pose because I'm more worried about where my enemy is or when i should time my next skill.

When it all comes down to it, for me at least, those rare times when i am sitting back observing things or just talking to people, I don't want the ugly mug that is my character staring at me like some vision from an R. L. Stine book.

Sadly i agree with you deciett. I didn't know of the **** poses until last night when i learned y first lightning attack. It did'nt bother me . . .. . until i read the forums about it being ****. Thats when i noticed.

i really don't care people calling me **** for that pose

if it does high damage and helps me kill the monster then i use it

1 more thing, if ppl call you **** because of your character in a game then guess what, he probably has no life

seriously? calling some1 **** because of their character? **** would be like getting pink hair, skinny limbs, and hair so long it touches your butt...like those legolas wanna-bes

Personally I don't care about being **** or not, I know my sexuality. Hell I'm running around with no pants on with a pink shirt, might as well play the part :D

I gave my archer a small beard I think it suits the part.

Not all the animations suck, though I do worry about him preparing his flaming arrows. That action just looks - wrong!

Yeah, the "Standard" Male Archer character configuration does look a little "Homo". Yes, I've noticed the lightning spin-on-one-leg like a female ice skater and the "...caressing??" of his... weapon, hand, idk... while he buffs up. At least the Evasion skill doesn't look flaming ****. This could be worse if he had a high-pitched voice. I'm going to make him look straight, that's all. I may even send a letter to the company. ""Why do I look like a flaming homosexual when I fight?"" Lol that would be hilarious.
