Hey, just started an archer... at the mo im lvl 8 but feel im missing something due to the levels really slowing down.

Ive gone for the 4dex 1str stat build.
Ive taken Blacksmith since i figure -> more dmg is killing mobs faster is taking less dmg (making defense redundant in grinding) and overall leveling faster.

Ive read certain posts about builds though thought id trust myself when picking skills. So far i think quickshot and blazing arrow seem viable to level.

Where im stuck is getting the best weapons available.
-> Ive figured out how to make weapons, though they seem bog standard vendor... missing something? (oh and im lost on getting mats :S)
-> Have seen some stuff about, sry wow terms, enchanting items but really i have no clue which is annoying since... well i dont want to be using ****. im guessing if its possible that +physical or dex would be the way to go. any tips?

Last bit is how to level...
-> quests or dungeons?
-> from what you have seen on how im planning to level should i go full dmg skills or is cc still needed later on? (list skills needed plox!)

k, think thats all of it. i know i have a lot to answer but damn it would set me sailing if someone would be kind enough to answer :D!

    Level by doing quests. Also, the quests often give the weapons and equipment that you need so it isn't necessary to buy or manufacture weapons early on. All you need to stock up on are arrows and potions.

    I just started a new archer also...yesterday actually lvl 19 now. I am far from being a pro, but like you i was having a really hard time starting about lvl 8. I had been collecting materials but not making anything from them. So i went to town crafted some armor and a weapon and didnt have any problems after that. There is a good quest reward bow in the next town you go to after bamboo villiage (can't remember the town name) but you desperately need a weapon to get there.

    I am particular to bows myself but the first slingshot you make is really good, i was lucky and got some good mods on it too. At level 10 I started using my life powders I had been making from apocerathy (SP?) and have been breezing solo ever since. Once you get your frost arrow shot and learn to manage your chi everything gets a lil easier too.

    If you don't wanna craft I would suggest going to the auction to find a bow, from what i have seen there you can get one with not the greatest mods but with better damage than vendor weapons for about the same coin.

    As far as skills goes my quick shot and take aim are both still lvl one.....to me i feel like with the casting time on QS that my auto attacks in that amount of time actually do better. Take Aim though i have been tempted to level up I use it a lot on ranged physical and magical mobs....it's a great chi builder also. But that's just my opinion.

    None of this may be worth anything at higher levels, but this is what worked for me at your level(and still is nicely at 19), and is making me enjoy my archer bunches.

    Good luck to ya, hope some of this may have helped.

    Under the mini map there is a button called "coordinates assistant" click it, and enjoy.
