Perfect World A Chore?

I don't know about the rest of you... but about lvl 50's in this game, this game has become a chore to me.. It's the same thing and nothing different. You must farm for mats, you must buy stuff from boutique if you want to progress fast. You must do endless farming if you want to progress...
The quest are also the same, go out, kill X number of this or get X of that, go back, turn it in, and get another quest. DQs are the same.. GM's i don't wanna quit really. Anything you can do to fix it?

    Welcome to the wonderful world of MMO's!
    Sorry, but it's like that really. Every MMO is the same for that, except for a few. Those few tend to suck though.

    I can tell u havent played many MMO's. This is way better than most out there. If u think this is bad check out silkroad online(its a good game though if u can handle it)

    MMOs in general are kind of like that. I do feel that Perfect World is less grindy than many others I've played. There are always the repeatable quests such as the envoy of justice quests to help alleviate the grind, and other interesting activities such as the Cube of Fate. In the level 60's Twilight Temple instance is available, and AOE parties make for fast leveling until the 70s.

    I think the best part of Perfect World, is that it is built around bringing people together as a community. Most quests can be done in a squad, and a lot overland bosses and instance dungeons that are easier with the help from others. Of course, community does not automatically happen, but most all the people I've met in Perfect World have been really nice!

    In terms of being a chore and nothing different, the storyline in Perfect World is somewhat more freeform. I want to plug EtherSaga and especially Zhuxian also by Perfect World. Zhuxian is based off a very popular novel, and the storyline is epic. Hopefully, Zhuxian will come out next year. b:victory

    If levels 49 - 89 were just one big quick levelling party then half the server would be 89+ already and it'd be boring as hell.

    As pretty mich said by all. 99% of all mmorpgs are like this. Each have their own ways to break up the mudaness of it sometimes but the grind is there in every game.

    PW has done better than alot of others in giving us things to break up the grind. You need also to remember that this version has only been released a few months. There are tons of stuff not in the game yet. Housing for one. I think there is some type of casino in the full version as well. Then we have daily horse races, Dragon Palace and City of Abominations once a week. Other dailys such as the cube, and the rebirth orders are things that when you do them break up the grinding.

    Yes alot of this stuff you need to be higher lvl to truely enjoy but its the reward for your efforts.

    Imo, this game is much better than most of the MMORPG's that I've played. The only downfall for me is there's not much to do soloing (for archer), it's too party dependent (unless you're veno b:angry). If you think the grinding is unbearable in this game, try Xenepic (without cash shopping).

    what dictionary did u get the word "mudaness" from? I couldn't find it in Webster's Dictionary.

    ^ ok. seriously, if you think veno's have to much of an advantage, then be one, your on the right side then, and if you choose not to be one then why don't you stop whining about it.

    secondly, as in the above posts it says this game is fairly new, so give it a chance to branch out. as a personal opinion, right now you should work on the christmas stuff, it won't be around much longer and it's fairly entertaining.

    Heheh, try playing maplestory. It's grinding once you're out of the newbie island. This place gives you a pretty good start.

    Maplestory has NOTHING in it. Some people think its cute, but when you actually PLAY... Its full of quests with "Kill X. I think the big mushroom just stole my hat!"
    (Yes there are big fat bouncy mushrooms)

    There is a thing called Party Quests (PQ)
    You have to get in a party (a squad) and go into this dungeon where you have to do all these fun challenges, but its not worth it, Only 1 party can go in at a time in each "channel" (subserver.. kinda, 20channels in each server) and you have to wait for ageees.

    Yeah...
    The only game that I've played that has GOOD quests. (Quests with a storyline, fun challenges) Is Runescape... That was the only reason I played it really. Fun quests.

    If that veno comment was aimed towards me, I've been there done that. Also, yes I whine a lot (sarcasm). I was only joking with that post hence the smiley: b:angry
