PW interfering with my internet?

It's been happening for a while now...everytime I go and try to load Perfect World I'm able to play for about 5 minutes and then the game will disconnect. I'll close the program and it'll show that my internet connection was disconnected...usually shortly thereafter the problem fixes itself, and on occasion I have to manually repair the network. My network does not have a firewall, but my virus protection (McAfee) does and it gives elementclient.exe Full Access to my network.

This only happens with Perfect World.

Do you have a discrete router and modem? Have you played any other games using an online client-server model?

No, and I've been able to play other client-server games just fine.

Can you provide further details about your network? Do you use wireless, wired ethernet, or a more eccentric solution like network over USB? Are there any driver updates for your network interface available?

It is wireless, and there are no driver updates as far as I'm concerned.

If you can switch to a wired connection to your router, please try that, and see if the behavior persists. Many wireless routers and wireless cards can have... unreliable... results when dealing with game-like traffic. Not seeing this behavior in other client-server games makes me think it's more likely a driver issue on the wireless card than anything else, but if it's possible, I'd prefer to find out if the issue is wireless-related or not before poking at individual sections.

If you can not do so, please make sure there are no large 2.4 GHz interference sources near your computer or router, such as microwaves or cordless phones.
