Update Server Connection Failed

Update serever connection failed, please try other update server.

Perfect world was woeking fine this weekend through saturday but now every time that I try to play the game, this comes up and then when I try to play, I log in fine and then when I select my characted and press start, the game frezes up. I press Control + Alt. + Delete and it says the program is not responding and then I quit, try it again and again, and I get the same result.

If you find a solution or have been through this problem before and know how to fix it, please post your solution here.

PS: It took me like at least eight hours to finish downloading the client so I would prefer greatly if someone could post a response other than reinstaling, and if that is the only choiece, I will do it, but make that the last resort!

    Try using the Verify option from the launcher.

    I just did and the same thing comes up:

    update server connection failed. please try another update server

    Im having the same problem too it dousent even let me pick charcter it shows me the servers are offline.... maybe you just have to wait...

    I'm having the same problem too, but a while ago the servers were all online....

    The servers are currently down for maintainence. Please be patient they should be back up in about 1 hour and 20 minutes or so.

    I'm also having trouble I haven't been able to get on Lost City server since yesterday I want to know why. Everytime I try to log on it says "Unable to connect to server."

    If you have not already done so, please run a Verify from the Launcher. Please check any network security software you have updated or installed within the last few days, including Windows Firewall, for anything that would block elementclient.exe or patcher.exe

    I am having the same problem. The startup menu says 'Update Server connection fails. Please try other update server.' I clicked 'Verify' (which does nothing), I am connected directly to the internet (no modem), turned off my anti-virus and firewall to see if it would help (it didn't) and am in the US. Also the web page in the lower right of startup page won't display anything. The 'Notice' box says "This page cannot be found" and the server cannot connect when I try to launch one from the menu. What can be done to remedy this other than clicking on the 'verify' button?

    Is an up to date flash player required to play the game? I can view the website fine, except for the box in the lower right of the startup page. I have updated my flash player and cannot see that particular page, and still cannot connect to any of the servers.

    Did it get rid of the "Page can not be found" on the launcher? Also could you please have a look at here? Also have a look if your Firewalls, Antivirus, Peerguardian etc let you connect to the servers.

    Nope, still seeing the 'cannot display' message. again, firewall and anti visrus software turned off. I do not use a router; I am connected directly to the modem. Is there anything else that me be preventing me from connecting?
