Christmas event, best PWI event ever

Don't you think it's the best event in PW ever?. Getting 1% crit tome and some free stuffs w/o using cash shop. Snowman everywhere giving free fireworks, stones and cards. A non-cash shop event from a f2p? Does anyone agrees with me?
I still wonder why people hate it. 1% crit perm in a tome box is super neat. Free stuffs? duh? Free = Always good and how about those snowman in town, who said it's not cool for bms and barbs? My lvl 10 veno already killed 100+ of those snowman mobs w/o the use of a stupid bow. Yes, archers have the adv. of it, but any class can still equip a bow and shoot from long range. Nice side quest and a fair reward from finishing it. How can you hate it? Others said it'll ruin the economy.. I say bull, the only thing that will change is the mirage stones and chip prices, other than that it's neutral.
Post if you disagree and why. Gimme an epic reason why you would hate this event.

that one is the downer, but if you can get tier 3 cards and you have a lvl75+ friend,you can ask him to make you one 0 -

Also, how exactly do I recieve the large xmas box? I did what the site said, and only got a small xmas box.0 -

Sorry Tomi, but i have to disagree:
I been checking with the tamer regularly and yeah still no event or launcher for that....
I got my cards big whoop.. Especially since I cant even use the 1% crit blessing since it goes where my arcane book is.. So thats pointless and worthless to almost all venos.
Did the living snowman quest and got my 20k exp not too bad.. Got a stocking or 2 and got 2 lvl 4 stones another big woop..
Tried to kill some snowmen for the hell of it, lag almost as bad as in PW MY in Arch now(remind me again why I left PW MY?).. Anyway yeah just bad lag, snowman are usually dead before I can even touch them, even tried with a bow. I think in 20 min I managed to kill 5 or so before I got frustrated and bored and said **** it..
Grinded for about 7 hours total now and got 2 xmas cards and 2 #17 cards.. drop rate sucks or Im extrmemly unlucky...
Now after spending almost all day devoted to the new "events" and nothing really to show for my troubles, nor can i say I had fun, I said **** it and have went back to my 8 hour days in TT. Its better than these events in my opinion.
Say what you want but Im still very unimpressed with this.. Bring back the halloween event it was damn sight better even if it was CS.. If i have to pay to get a GOOD event then I would rather pay...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I remember that when they anounced this event you wrote it would be a big KS fest.

My personnal opinion : it IS the best event ever done by PWE. But many thing could have been made much better. Good point : nothing need to be bought in the cash shop to participates in the events. That is really a good way of doing things. At least people cannot complaint they always do thinks with money into their minds.
At least I'm giving them a good note for the effort. My main gripe is the same I gave them about the kill the boss/gm events : making something to spawn in a small area where a lot of players will be gathered is a bad idea.
Invasion of the Naughty Snowmen : that was not working when I logged off yesterday. And the fact that those snowmen are camped/farmed/KSed to no end will make this even annoying to make to say the least. They should have made the snowmen spawn randomly everywhere on the map. That would have taken care of most of the lag and KSing. And don't make them immune to elemental damage.
Christmas Chocolate : the bonus given by those items is not that great. I still would have liked to get my mats in addition to those chocolate mats instead of in replacement of them.
X'mas Card Hunt : The drop rate of the last set of card is simply too low to make it interresting to farm for them. What's the point of killing 600 mobs and not dropping even one? Is there anyone who got a complete set of them actually dropped them all themselves? No. They all bought the cards from other players. I don't see any "fun" in that. The first set of card is fun to complete, I find the concept of having to trade our doubles with friends to get a full set fun.
The Living Snowmen : They should have made the snowmen spawn randomly everywhere on the map. That would have taken care of most of the lag and KSing. Otherwise, this event would be not overly imaginative, but ok.
Santa's Helper : that one is fun, having to go near a chimney to drop gifts into them to help Santa ^^. It is original and fun.
X'mas Gifts : That one is ok too.
Free Christmas Clothes : That one is OK too. Everyone can have those clothes for the Xmas time, and those who want to own them forever can buy them in the cash shop.
Santa's Grocery Store : That would be funny if every class could use them. Otherwise I find it amusing to see Santas running everywhere ^^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

As for Op yes this was a great event. Makes events a whole lot better when they aren't center around the cash shop especially at christmas.0 -
the event it self is a good idea BUT putting the snowmen in just the citys more players than snowmen its pointless to even try to kill them what would make it better is if thay would have spread the snowmen all over the map less ksing more fun for all the players[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Pretty fun if your low levels, I made 300k off it and leveled 1-10 off it. Snowmen give 120 xp each, pretty good for a lvl 1-10 person ahah! But other then that Im not impressed, lag fest, pretty poor drop rate on cards. Carrot hasnt dropped even after 100+ kills, I got a Wish box or w.e with the cards I collected from NPC. Poor job on describing WHAT to do with these things, So I said forget it this event isn't worth it and gave the wish box thing away. The 1% crit hit, woo hoo? Not worth the time. Lag bleh, I couldnt bother with CS on my other acc either.0

Well I would have to give this one a ***/***** .. IT has it great points for the lower lvls..
1) Great to not be a CS event.
2) The snowmen 120exp is perfect for lvl'n up.
3) People that read gets a better experience....
Point 3 is the funniest of them all.. I keep hearing people complaining about lag, get a better connection. If you spent 100-300 kills getting the carrot nose READ THE QUEST, it says to get the young (cant remember name) snowman not the regular ones you killed to get to it (I laugh'd my butt off yesterday hearing all the complaints).. I did and still do have a problem with the GREAT stuff being for the higher then 55 group, all that is going to do is make MORE money for the higher ups **** the lower lvls for something they (<55) can use much more then them (>55).. Now the 15-21 card drop is a bit low in my option but the snowman killing was still fun, I love using the snowball slingshot and for those who complain about lag and KS'n go to a place where there is less people.. I killed over 200 snowmen in less then 15 minutes lastnight and in the time it took me to wait for Jewel Quest Reward I did the Tamers Quest TWICE. Just find a spot where there is not that many people there, dont stand in WEST ARCH where there are 1000's go to NW ARCH where there are less (use that thing on your shoulders, even my 10 year old figured that one out)
It does have its minor downfall but by far the best event yet and hope to see more like this one in the future.. Great job guys and keep up the Awesome job you are doing giving me some pleasure in these turmoiled times..
P.S. I hope that one of these Tamer Quest give better items then just lvl1 chi stones, like the X-Mas Card when I finely got a major bang for the buck.. GOLD BARS..Why wont my sig work.. Not kool..0 -
haven't lagged at all and i live in england and have mobile internet so if anybody gets server lag it would be me
only thing i wished was different is the snowball quests pointless for higher levels haveing to compete with all the low lvls for 2k xp when can get that for killing 4 mobs my level so if was tiered would encourage higher levels more prizes from stocking not really an incentive could easily make more than the stuff you gets worth grinding on mobs my level in the same time well unless you were really lucky with the stuff you get everytime0 -

Best event so far, these events are MUCH better than the kill the GMs events and other previous events. Also, for all the people complaining about the quests and not understanding what to do (ex. finding the carrot nose), try reading or searching it up.
The rewards on the quests and drops from snowmen are great. The chi stones are perfect for making attack hieros, and the mirage stones are great drops from the snowmen. I get like 2%+ per hour grinding on snowmen (pretty nice, no repairs, pots/wasting charms, etc). The christmas bronze hp/mp charm are great too.
Yes, archers get an advantage with their longer range but, other classes can still get decent kills with a bow/snowball launcher.I was early taught to work as well as play,

I have to agree that at least everyone can participate in this event at least to some degree.
To some that prefer the CS driven events, well that just goes to show how some people focus on their own needs rather than fairness to all. Of course an event like the Halloween Event would appeal to a TT farming veno or those with Hercs to solo most FBs. But put yourself in a lowbie's shoes for a sec. You wouldn't have enough gold yet to buy the Angels in any practical quantity when players were charging 30k+. The only other option was to dish out real money, which many players are not capable of doing for various reasons.
These events have fun written on them, not necessarily profit. It sounds more like the disappointed players just simply expect to be better off financially or gear wise after each event is over. Sometimes, even the lil' people should get a chance to smile, not just the rich and almighty.
By far, I have to say, the funniest thing I have heard so far during this event came from venos (and don't take this wrong venos, i have one myself and I don't have anything against the class at all), crying how they were getting Ks'ed before their pets could get to the snowmen.
Considering all the finger pointing against venos on the forum about ks'ing, it just made me chuckle. I thought it was ironic. But, they made it so anyone could grab a level 1 bow and arrows and have the same chance to kill.

Lol CS events like the halloween one doesnt have to be about profit. I was low lvl at the halloween event but I somehow managed. Venos didnt have hercs at the halloween event but they somehow managed too.
Lets see do I want free events at holidays that do nothing but make me lag, give me chi stones, firecrackers, and a 5 min chocolate that puts my other potions on cooldown. I dont KS on snowman I lag so much I cant even get to the snowman before its dead. Im a nice comp too with cable connection. On normal days its fine, but ever since xmas eve arch and all the snowman cities are now a nightmare lag fest ugghhh.
Now back to the halloween event where you could pay 30k and get a rare mount, flyer, or equipment. All of the above very nice and useful. And special. I still wear my HH ammy, I love that thing, and its something unique.
As I stated before I would rather pay for a GOOD event then have free crappy ones. I dont find these events fun in the least. And as already stated before someone comes in with the reply" well then dont do them" Dont Worry I have already stopped doing them and went back to my days in TT. 8 hours a day in TT is more fun than those events were for me.
Its the difference in driving a BMW or a el camino I guess for some people. You may be happy with a beat up el camino that cost little or nothing and maybe you do find it fun. Others prefer to have better and are willing to pay for what they like and find fun.
Theres no reason why it cant be both ways. They could have kept the snowman event for those that liked it and they could have added CS events too for those that prefer to pay for better.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I've done all the mini games for christmas except for the clothes. When i go to talk to the inventory manager they dont have anything but normal buying stuff. Why cant i get a free outfit? I'm lvl 310

I love the quest!
Unfortunately though some other players and I are having trouble with this quest, and we dont know why.
1. I cant get the snowball launcher for some reason
2. We cant get the quest at all... It makes no sense!
I mean.. I was doing it this morning and yesterday, had the launcher for most of yesterday even, and now the Snowman tamer is just being annother one of those lame NPC's that dont do anything... Is it bugged or something? D>／l、

So I see some people are not having fun with this event. I LOVE just seeing the snow, snowmen, trees and Santa. Santa looks so good and the snow falling around him is awesome. I had to take tons of screenshots of everything. ^_^.
The firecrackers going off and people running around in cute christmas suits makes this event very christmassy and that is what it is all about.
There is alot of people with this mad rush to make a profit off of it. No wonder this event is sucking for you. I hated the halloween event, no fun... no spirit to it at all. One f'ing jolly fux standing there waiting for money, woot Fun fun!
Also, lag is gonna happen, but nothing compared to the kill the gm event. Now that was Lagfest. I haven't had lag with anything I've done in this event.
This has been so much fun and for all those that think it suck. Slow down and just enjoy the spirit of it. That's the good stuff. If you don't get that, then maybe you should go back to grindfest and not fool with it. but.. me I am b:pleased and hope they will continue to be like this.0 -
