What if there was shields in game?
Now, I realize some classes would look weird with them like an archer.
So here is how it should go...
Archers should wear crossbow to be able to use shield.
Blademasters should use 1 handed sword or pole.
Barbarians should use 1 handed sword.
Wizards should use wand.
Clerics should use wand.
Venomancers should use wand.
I realize some don't make a lot of sense but it would be awesome to wear shields.
Also, they should add defense. (Duh)

its a good idea but problem XD
Barbs have to use two handed weapons to use the skills....
Not everyone enjoys using wands and also archers use the crossbows two handed, sorry to burst you bubble pal.
Also im sure the shield would be classed as heavy so magic users wouldn't have the right str.
But i think on a BM it would be a good idea0 -
Simple, Archers get a small buckler, since all it would do is just increase physical defense further. With a chance to completely block a normal ranged physical attack.
Barbarians would hold and use their pole based weapons differently, the weapons themselves having a shorter shaft. Twin axes and Twin hammers would not be compatible with shields. When using a shield you have a chance to deflect a % of the damage you take.
Blademaster same concept as barbarian Only Dual Axe/Dual Hammer/Dual Sword/Fists cannot be used with shield.
For magic classes, have it as a glove with a focusing crystal in it. Thus when the person is attacked they block with a magic barrier, but can cast unobtrusively. Chance to reflect a spell.
This gives you essentially a Light, Heavy, and Magic shield types.
Could even add in a toggle able ability which places the player in a defensive stance which increases the effectiveness of their shield, at the cost of speed and HP/MP regen.0 -
yeah i realize it's only good for bm and barbs so...hmm...i'm thristy b:victory0
