You could have just bumped the older post; I do try to read everything.

If you're getting the nginx text, that means that you can communicate over TCP port 80 with the patch servers. Please check Windows Firewall (it has a nasty habit of being automatically turned on), and either disable it temporarily or add exceptions for the elememtclient.exe, patcher.exe, and launcher.exe files from the C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment folders.

You said in the other thread that you do not have a router. What type of network connection are you using?

And seriously, why make another patch when they know for a fact the patch earlier was a constant nuisance, with the update server failing. I read the patch notes, saying that they need to remove the items for christmas and all that, but couldn't they have figured that one out before on the earlier patch?

What type of network connection are you using?

    i am using a broadband connection (my speed is 1.8 MB/s )

i have added the port 29000 and the .exe files to the firewall, and even turned of the firewall, but nothing helps.

A broadband connection with no router on your end, or did I get two conversations confused? Are we talking a cellular WAN card, an internal DSL or cable modem, or does your ISP bring ethernet directly to the house? Are there any proxy servers configured?

    - i got a cable modem (friend of mine got dsl but has the same problem as me)
    - i dont have/use a router
    - firewall is turned off

    the wierd thing is:
start launcher - you get a little square splash screen, what says: conecting to server - then it says: update completed

so why is that going good? and in the launcher not?

this is so confusing if i dont know how this can be.

The smaller updater usually just ignores major errors, so it's not too indicative of anything. Can you check your proxy settings in Internet Explorer? Tools -> Internet Options, click the Connections Tab, then the LAN Settings button. They're described in the bottom half of that window.

because the FIXED the other patch, thats what the patch right after it was, and its not like they should stop patching all together, or the game woudl be how it is now and never have anything new implimented

Please go to Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall. Make sure it is turned completely off, and even if it is, click the radio button for off anyway. Look at your system tray (to the left of the Windows clock), and look for any software that lists anything like Security, Antivirus, Firewall, or Guardian, and look through the included information for that software for how to set an explicit allow for the Perfect World Elementclient.exe and/or TCP port 29000.

If that does not appear to fix the problem, please provide us the text of a hijackthis log. I'd also recommend, again, contacting support ticketing.

i emailed the technical support, after a few emails, he/she forwarded the email to someone who maybe can ddo something about it, but he also said that he dint know if he/she will contact me. and after that he told me to ask here on the forums to, so thats why i am keep going to look for a fix.

The notice page will usually be empty unless the PWI staff posts something on it, quite rare though. Try resetting your internet, unplugging it for 10 secs and plugging it back in, but that is all outside of PW and nothing else running. If that does not work, I suggest getting better internetb:bye

The HijackThis looks normal (well, for Vista; the permissions scheme is why you're getting file missings, since those files have to be there).

... Let's start at the basics. Please download and install nmap. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Nmap\zenmap\zenmap.exe, double-click that file, and in the resulting window, type in the command "nmap -p29000 -PN pwigc3.perfectworld.com", click scan, and wait til you see the word "unknown" pop up, and tell us what results you get..

All right. That demonstrates that there is no issue on a general level outside of your computer -- a packet was able to get from your machine to the game servers easily and fairly quickly.

Please run a netstat -o from the command line, and show us the results.
