Few simple things PWI lacks

Hey, i'm very new to PWI and so far i have loved it. For the last few years i have been playing WoW and jsut recently made the switch and i haven't looked back but i have noticed that there is just a few small simple changes that if made would make the game signifcantly better.
1) Targetting the monster in front of you by pressing tab.
- a tiny change that makes life so much easier.
2) The ability to change and bind keys
- you should be able to assign each command a key of your choice, this combined with tab targetting makes gameplay so much easier and smoother.
You should also be able to toggle click to move on or off
3) Being able to strafe and turn left right with different buttons
- e.g. turn left right is a/d and strafe left right is q/e
4) Increasing how far you can zoom out.
This last suggestion isn't near as easy to implement as the above 4 but i think is definitely needed for PWI to really establish itself as one of the best mmorpg's.
5) Quest Diversity
- SO far all i have done is kill this many things quests and if i didn't know there was better content ahead of me e.g. dungeons i would have quit by now. The game needs some quests that involve killing mini bosses, not in dungeons but ones in the world that require a small group say 2 or 3 of you to do and give good rewards. Or quests that involve rescuing someone and escorting them out of an area. Or quests that involve using items such as torches to do actions e.g. burn down enemy resource huts. Or even quests that say travel to the blah blah mines and collect 15 blah blah, and have monsters all through the mines that aggro as you walk past them (only a minor difference from killing monsters for items but a difference nevertheless).
The game definitely needs some quest diversity and longer quest chains that have interesting stories attached that relate to the games lore.
I'm sure all of this has been suggested before but i thought i'd just give some ideas of small improvements that can be easily made and will make gameplay significantly funner and easier.

haha i agree with number 2
but as for number 4
ive seen this game get mucho credit for having a unuiqe quest chain, maybee yoru jsut not far along enough yet to notice it
but if you pay close attention youll see bodys in trees or on the ground
that are slightly mentiond later on in quests, wich accually brings the environment into the questing, making the quests bind the world around it with the quest itself, wich is rather rare in most games and pretty cool
id say give the questing another chance, of course grinding quests will always exist, no way around it and really its not that bad when you can manage farming/questing together, because evenchually your ganan have to farm a bit, so might as well gain xp while doing it ( the basic xp from grinding alone will make your teeth cringe once you get to a higher level )[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
oh really, well thats very good to hear, and yes you are right i am only new to the game and was purely basing my suggestions on my current experiences but after hearing what you said i withdraw that suggestion.
That aside, customisable key setting and tab targetting are two very simple things that this game needs.
By the way if anyone has time to answer, does this game allow the use of mods. E.g. interface addons or map mods etc. Hopefully there's someone who's played other mmorpgs like WoW that knows what i am talking about.0 -
I come from the world of FFXI for the past 3 years or so and I am loving PWI. I know what you mean about a targeting key. I'm sure all veno's know how important this is after targeting your pet the first billion times by mistake! Even zoomed all the way out (another one of your fine points) the magmite takes up about 50% of the targeting space and even more when standing because the pets "park" on top of you. Died more times than I would like to admit because of this :P
As far as some sort of mod for PW, I haven't found one. I was looking for something like what the FFXI players called "windower" that would allow us some small extra features that would not give us an advantage but allow us things like distance, extended macro's, or inventory auto sort to make our lives easier.
I really hope that the targeting issue is addressed or at least something like using "Alt click" to target your pet to limit "pet blackout"0
