I just made an alt char veno and i don't really feel like doing quests. Is there a down side to not going quests other than missing out on rank equipments? Will it mess up my cultivation quests or something?

It might mess up your cultivation quests and the fb runs. I believe those have a minimum reputation requirement.

If you keep the mobs you farm to at most your level -2 you can farm your way up, but given the exponential increase in xp needed to level as you get up there it is highly ineffective to just grind your way up.

also not only as previously stated will you miss out on cultivation with in turn with limit the skills you can aquire, but some quests do provide several handy quest reward only items that are big helps in tight situations.

so in summation: grind if you like, but do quests if you want more than +1 level a day.

If you dont mind wasting tons of time it might work. You wont be as good or have as much fun most likely though.

Dont see the point. Surely you need some purpose and direction to what you are doing ?
What about the rewards you get, some weapons are only available from quests. Maybe you should do more solo quests to get reputation and stones only ?

Quests are often a better form of XP, gold, give reputation which is required for certain things such as military rank, and give items, some of which are decent (many of which are not).
Doing the guard mob killing quests gives reputation and, when they want you to kill something you can grind well on, you may as well to get them so you pick up some reputation as you're going.

There is no real reason you can't just grind and do no quests other than cultivation quests. It'll probably be slower, and you'll miss out on a few things, but it should work fine, and many of the items you miss out on can be replaced by stuff you can craft.

Be aware that some quests can be done no matter what level you are, so you can just go back and do them, other's have a maximum level which you need to pick up the quest bby.

(1). Additionally. if you like grinding - do the Dragon Quests, almost every step has a grinding component.

(2). Another good excuse to grind is to pick up and level up a craft and grind for the mountains of mats you will eventually need to level up the crafting level. This type of grinding gives you more freedom in choosing what, where and when to grind.

(3). TBH sometimes I get bored with questing and just grind away 15-25% of a level on whatever mobs I feel like exterminating. Depending on the mob, this can be quite profitable too.

(4). Alternatively if you want a truly private grinding experience (and more of a challenge) go clear out one of the lower level FB instances solo. I sometimes do this then find someone who needs the boss quest et voila, you get a substantial experience/skill point bonus.
