When I was researching on the internet i found a list with pros and cons of dual and single blades.

Single Blades
pros:
-pretty high damage with normal attacks
-high atk speed

cons:
-less damage with skills

Dual Blades
pros:
-high skill-damage

cons:
-only average in every other categorie

(those are of course just the main points)
If its like that, wouldnt that mean dual swords pretty much suck ? or is it just some junk written by a newbie who has no idea how to play ?
I originally planned on using Duals, but if it really is like that...

If you like spamming skills, then dual blades are better. Dual blades/swords are better for PVP because PVP relies mainly on skills rather than normal attacks.

Single blades/swords are mainly PVE. The aspd (attack speed) is faster than duals so the normal attack would be used more often. Less dependent on skills so you can spend less on potions, depending on the person of course.

Note that the reason for this is that skill cooldown and casting time is the same regardless of the aspd of the weapon.

Actually, the premise of this whole single/dual discussion in the forums is incorrect. It is easy enough to calculate the average of the damage range for each weapon and multiply it by the attack speed to get expected damage per second (although this will not be your real DPS since the weapon DPS gets adjusted based on your level and strength, but it will serve for the weapon-specific component of DPS). I've run that calculation out for all the basic sword types up to the early 60s (when TT weapons make this whole discussion irrelevant since those are mostly available in the single blade style). The pattern is the same for all these levels, but here is the level 20 and 30 sets for discussion. The first number is the level at which the weapon becomes available. The last number is DPS.

    21 2xSword 130
    24 2xBlade 151
    27 Sword 168
    29 Blade 181
    31 2xSword 199
    34 2xBlade 221
    37 Sword 237
    39 Blade 251

Now, a higher level weapon ought to give a higher DPS. The real question is whether the DPS is above or below pace for the increase in level. Plotting the values out for all the levels 17-64 gives a consistent pattern that the single weapons are always just slightly below trend and the doubles are just slightly above trend. So, in fact, double weapons are doing more damage per second for their level than single.

That being said, the difference is not really enough to worry about. SO, the best advice is to use whatever variant of sword you are most comfortable with or which gives you the best gear at reasonable cost. But, if you are currently using single sword/blade remember that its attack speed advantage is only relevant for normal attacks so you get the most out of your weapon if you rely on longer stretches of normal attacks. Dual weapons will be better if you plan to rely on a lot of skills.
