Being Invisible

I am not particularly having a problem, but I noticed that my friend, MIghtyKronos, is invisible. I noticed the problem when we were trying to find each other and he wasn't showing up on my screen, but I found him by clicking around. Once highlighted, it showed his player number instead of name. I tried adding him to the squad and it still showed his player number and that he was a blademaster which is not true as he is an archer. We both signed off and signed back in and it was still the same. A few minutes after, his name showed up again, but he still continues to be invisible?

Anyone know what is going on and how it can be fixed?


Edit: Further investigation... a bunch of people are invisible and nameless at the time, specifically the people who have had their shops up in Archosaur.

    Check your settings (hit the System button, which looks like a pair of brown tools in an X shape, then the System Settings button, which looks like a green old-style monitor). The setting you're interested in are the Distance and Customization settings -- make sure the former is set a reasonable distance, and that the latter is ticked.

    Doing a Verify sometimes helps.

    I know about the settings and double checked after reading your post. He was specifically invisible and I saw other players moving around. Last night/early morning, a handful of other people also no profile picture and no name when I clicked their shops. Some were visible, some weren't. MightyKronos continues to be invisible. I'll try the Verify.


    Edit: That didn't work either. I can't even click on him at all unless he is or was in my party. :\

    Wow.. This is weird.

    I don't really believe it's a install or file issue, but an issue in the archosaur district or with the trade thingy.
    Well a tip, try reinstalling?

    I can randomly see him now. So maybe it was some bug they fixed. I have no idea what happened. :p

    Well randomly shouldnt be good enough, you should be able to see him all the time.

    By randomly I mean it just happened out of the blue earlier today that he was now visible. It hasn't been going on and off.

    I don't know if this relates to your problem or not, however I "saw" invisible ppl many times. In Brute village once and in dungeons often. Visibility changes with death. After I get back from the city, some ppl are "missing" but they are there (guess how stupid I look when they wait for revive ;-)).

    I can log off/log in and the visibility changes. When it's OK, we can continue. When it sucks... again. Many things in PWI works like "get out/get in" (updater too) but it's not good of course. Especially if you need to do it more times and the effect is random.

    This started happening to my wife and I 2 days ago...Archosour 6 times...once in Etherblade. We both have high end comps with high end video and ram. Not bragging, just listing specs. Both computers are next to eachother. Started out as me not seeing my wife...she is like I am here. I look at her screen and we are both there. I reboot comp, no help. Other times I see her but her flying pet is missing. Same thing for her with me...we both have the issue on two different comps. Other times I log into Archosaur West...my wife logged in say an hour before me...I appear at login and the intersection is empty except for merchant peep shops. Her screen meanwhile is filled with 75 folks exactly at the same intersection. we play Lost City...not sure about other servers.

    Ayways...wanted to share the thought with you...it is not you. I believe a glitch exists and PW will need to sort it out. Just to let you know...this happened all weekend. However, tonight my wife and I played for 3 hours and the graphics were ok.

    I noticed this at least two weeks ago or so. It can't be HW problem, because graphics is perfectly fine, my client is up to date and often explicitly verified (just for case) and it changes after relogin (without client restart). So it's obviously but.

    You don't see any traces of the invisible player, his shots, nothing. You can select him if you're on him with your cursor - or easily if he's in the squad. He has selection circle under him, but that's everything you can see. You can also see his name flying in the air - but I'm not sure about the name in the dungeon because I didn't see it there. But it is visible outside. And no - it's not very rare - it happens quite often to me and most of my friends.

    One more clarification:
    I actually don't see names of those players, I see only factions. I've just logged on like every day and this is what I can easily see near west-district blacksmith:

    I hope there is nobody telling me that this is minor problem. Try to fight the boss with half of the squad invisible. ;-) Try to relogin during the boss fight after revive. :-) Try to be leader of the squad, tank the boss AND invite player after relog. :-) This is big bug in my eyes.
