Gold bought with coins?

I've only been playing for a day or so but is it true that you can buy cash shop gold with your in-game coins?

Since I don't have enough coins for what they are asking, I haven't been able to test it out at the auctioneer yet.

If it is true, are there any strings attached?

And what's with that password thing?

And also what is ZEN? I'm a bit confused. Is it just another word for gold?

    yes it is true that you can trade your COINS for GOLDS
    that password thing is something i dont know>.<
    ZEN is the currency for the "Perfect world" it can be traded to gold at the PWI website
    and it is the currency that you are buying at the Perfect world website

    and for ingame coin->gold trading only in game
    otherwise you need to use your pocket money and buy ZEN then trade it to GOLD

    ZEN is the online currency for Perfect World International -- it automatically turns into Gold when it's transfered to a server. The different names are there to help make clear that Gold can not be transfered back into your web site wallet. 100 ZEN = 100 Silver = 1 Gold.
    And what's with that password thing?
    Which one? The on-screen keyboard that shows up on the login screen is there for users who don't trust their current system's security. Most keyloggers only transmit keystrokes rather than mouse movements, so it's harder to steal a password through that. If you keep your computer secure, that shouldn't be an issue, though.

    There's also a password for the Bank that can be set to 'lock' it. Not really practical or important for most American users, but it is a nice bit of extra security.

    Yes, you can buy cash shop Gold with in-game coins. The only strings attached is that this Gold stays on the same server it was purchased on, and that you're purchasing it from other players. It's an auction house system, so supply and demand can be very relevant.
