As a cleric (healer) I find myself always asking my party members if the monster is almost dead...I think there should be a seperate small monster life bar on the screen for clerics...

It's something I've thought about, and I actually have a little different angle on it. As an Attack Cleric, I'm not the primary healer, but will help out as needed. So I'd like to select the boss for nuking, not just checking status.

My suggestion (for Clerics only), is add a little check box beside each player in the squad list, allowing you to put a check beside one player (you can also have no-one checked).

Nukes work the same as they do now.

Heals (or buffs) would work like this:

    1) If you have a friendly player selected, it heals them
    2) Otherwise, if you have a squad member checked off, it heals them.
    3) Otherwise, it heals yourself

This lets you check off the player you want to heal while still being able to select a mob if you want to do any nuking ... or just want to watch the HP go down.

    Hit E.
    Find "Assist" button.
Click and Drag that button to your hotkey bar.
Select party member on squad screen (the one with hp bars and names).
    Hit Assist.
You have the same target as that person now.

    @Metraze
That would be nice, but they will never add such thing.
That just becomes worse on dragon temple, where PK is free.
If you dont have a target, your spell will target yourself, but if someone attacks you, you will buff/heal the ENEMY who is attacking you, because you didnt set yourself to PK mode, but if you do it will still count outside the DT (which i wouldnt like to happen).
So inside dragon temple my only option is PK or be PK'ed.

Back to your suggestion, wouldnt it be better if you auto-targeted the same enemy as the person you are supporting when casting offensive spells? Would be exactly the same as when you target a monster and cast defensive spells (they are cast on you).

Eitherway, dont expect seeing those things here, will never happen.

Right ... and you can no longer heal that person without switching back. The whole idea is to be able to do both at the same time.

I don't PvP so not positive, but my suggestion shouldn't change anything with how heals work with the selected target. Are you telling me if someone attacks you now, so you have them selected, and you cast a heal, it's going to heal them instead??? I'd be very surprised if it did.

Points 1 and 3 I believe are how it works NOW ... I'm only adding point 2 in the middle (although I guess should add a clause that the squad member is also a 'friendly' target, just in case).
Back to your suggestion, wouldnt it be better if you auto-targeted the same enemy as the person you are supporting when casting offensive spells?
It'd be an improvement over what's there now ... but it doesn't solve the issue of being to see the mobs HP.

make monster life bars visible over its head when nearby without having to select or mouse over them.

    @ tenbatsu

this would be the best and simplest. This even asian devs / scripters could be able to manage.
so every party member and also other player are always on top with which mob is attacked and how far HPs are already down..
I think this would also solve in some cases ksing and being ksed
justice might be blind - but i also see in darkness

That would work fine for Support Clerics, but do nothing for Attack Clerics

Yes, but only by switching to the player/heal/switch back to boss/nuke ... which works OK for Attack Clerics, but not for Support Clerics

Even if I'm fast and I switch targets (bindings for squad members would be fine, shift+1 works, but that looks rather accidental than on purpose) there is ugly bug in my eyes. With ping 200-300ms it takes 1-2s to changed target takes the effect. Current casting/target changing system seems extremely laggy although the pace of the game should provide smooth experience even with 200ms ping (it's not first-person shooter after all ;-)). Either there is bug in the client (client knows that I changed my target yet it ignores it for a second or two) or in the netcode (my guess).

If target switching/casting works as it should we can much better check the boss or even switch before casting some dmg on it and then healing someone from the squad. With current implementation it's very risky to loose target on my squad member if I wanna heal them.
