If I'm not mistaken, you can buy land mounts from an npc and item mall. There will be level requirements for it, though. Each race can have any mounts that are available.

If my info is wrong, could someone please correct me? Thanks.

At level 40, players can start using land mounts. These mounts are not race/class specific and can be used by all. The mounts available at level 40 are:

    1. Standard brown horse, approx. 2.5M gold from the pet NPC.
    2. Standard black horse, approx. 2.5M gold from the pet NPC.
    3. White Draco Steed, can be obtained through the exchange of Dragon Quest tablets.
    4. Argent Mane (white glowing horse), can be obtained through the exchange of Dragon Quest tablets.
    5. Mauve Radiant (purple glowing horse), can be obtained through the exchange of Dragon Quest tablets.
    6. Windracer Jaguar, available through cash shop.
    7. Snowpace Bear, available through cash shop.

At level 60, the mounts available are:

    1. Sika Deer, available through cash shop.
    2. Stratus Elephant, available through cash shop.
    3. Auspicious Kylin, available through cash shop.
    4. Valiancy Dracon, available through cash shop.

Here a few screenies of some of the mounts available in PW. Do note that PW-International may or may not implement all of the mounts.

You're welcome. And I should also mention that unlike the flying devices, there are no quests that directly reward players with a land mount.

That is true, unless you count the Dragon Quests where you can get the (okay I forget the names) Purple or White glowing horses.

But these quests take awhile to do, and can be lengthy. You get tablets at the end of each quests completion, and you need a specific amount to trade for these rare horses 'or' other items. This NPC is near the noob villages.

The aviation - each class has a flying device - that they can fight on. The mounts, well you cannot fight on them, they merely take you from point A to point B. But, since guys can carry girls he can give her a lift.

The aviation, well the Warrior class gets a sword from the quest, the Beast class gets the manta ray, and the Elf class gets new wings (flys faster). I think it is very interesting that the elves get their wings from the beginning of the game.

My favorite is the Beast classes' avaition, because you can get very nice ones from the cash shop. While I loved the flying swan (goose?) the black hawk was just amazing.

The mounts and avaition are my favorite parts of the game It think.

Before I go out and purchase a mount. Is there anything I should know about the care of the mount?

I am getting a feeling that I would need to feed it, if so does anyone know how much. I am thinking of getting myself the polar bear (only because my hometown when I was young has a polar bear for a mascot).

If I do need to feed it, here are a few things I would like to know.
    • What do I need to feed it?
    • How often do I need to feed it?
    • Where can you get the food?
    • How expensive is it?

This information might make or break my decision to get a mount? Please help.

    • How often do I need to feed it?
    • Where can you get the food?
    • How expensive is it?

This information might make or break my decision to get a mount? Please help.

1.) You feed it any of the food items, though really, you'll only need the Pure Water. Each food gives your pet a different amount of loyalty points. The lowest being 10, the highest (I believe) is 150. What normally occurs is somebody will use the food adding 150 loyalty points around 4 times. This will bump up the mounts loyalty to the point where it will gain more exp, and you will have less of a chance to be dismounted. After this, just feed it Pure Water as needed.
2.) Your mount will begin to get 'hungry' every 5 minutes or so. However, if you chose not to, you don't HAVE to feed it. Doing this will cause it's loyalty to be very low. The more loyal the mount is, the more exp it will receive and the less likely it is you will be dismounted if hit. It's recommended you keep your pet over 500 loyalty points.
3.) You can buy the food at any Pet Skill Manager or Pet Manager.
4.) The food is fairly cheap (50 coins per pure water, nothing to sweat over). The mount is another story. The cheapest cash shop mount is 10 gold which will run about 1m in game. They get more expensive as they are upgraded/leveled. For your polar bear, expect to pay from 1-1.2m for a standard one.

Edit: Once you have actually purchased a mount, it's upkeep really isn't a hassle at all. You won't even notice the money you spend on keeping it fed. Being a Venomancer, I have a couple more pets along with my mount, and I go through food slowly. The mount is well worth it if you're tired of the slow pace of walking, and as a male character you'll be able to give rides to any of your female friends. They'll appreciate the help! If a mount seems pricey, just keep saving for a while. It's fairly easy to make money in PW, so it shouldn't take you too long to make what you need! And as I said before, it's more than worth it.

    Just as some additional info:
-You hatch your mount at any Pet Manager. (There should be at least one in every major town)
-Each mount can be upgraded to a max of 10.0 m/s by using the cash shop items known as spurs. Each set of spurs will increase it's speed by 1.0 m/s.
-On top of spurs, mounts gain exp over time. Every couple of minutes, your pet will gain exp in ratio of it's loyalty. Either 5, 10, or 15 exp per time. The highest possible level is 11 which will add a total of 1.0 m/s to your mounts speed. Each level adds 0.1 m/s.
-The 10 Gold mounts (Polar Bear and Jaguar) CAN be upgraded to go to 10 m/s by using both sets of spurs. First the 10 gold and then followed by the 15 gold spurs. The 10 gold spurs MUST be used prior to the 15. Else nothing will happen. After one or both sets of spurs have been added the mount can be leveled to 11 just like any other, thus adding the extra 1.0 m/s.
-Any other mounts (At this time) only need the 15 gold spurs to upgrade them from 9.0 m/s to 10.0 m/s.
-The use of spurs will get rid of any prior level on the mount and reset it back to 1. For example: If you had a level 8 polar bear going 8.8 m/s, using spurs would cause that bear to become a level 1, but moving 9.0 m/s.
-Each set of spurs reduces the required level to ride the mount. The lowest possible level is 20.
-Spurs are used at the Pet Manager. Just have the mount and the spurs in your inventory.
-Mounts do NOT stack with character speed. The movement speed of the mount is solely what the mount speed is said to be.

    Hope this helps!

Sweet ... thank you so much for all the info. I am not really worried about the 1.2 or so million to get the mount as I will be using the gold to buy it. I just wanted to make sure that it would not be "high maintenance" once I have it and it dies on me and I feel like I wasted my money. But by the sounds of it, it does sound like a good investment to get.

Again thank you for the well detailed explanation.
