Can someone help me understand this?

I'm lvl 12 Veno with a sharptooth wolflin and a Jaden Qingfu as pets. I notice that monsters tend to come after me when I use my Qingfu. When I use the Wolflin, the monster will usually attack my pet instead of coming after me. Why is that? Both of my pets are level 12.

Your wolfen has a higher attack than your qingfu or higher leveled attack skills, so it takes and keeps aggro easier than your qingfu. When you use your qingfu, just let it throw off a couple of attacks before you start or stick with your first magic spell and there shouldn't be any problems.

Qinfu isn't tamed with any sort of aggro holding skill, the wolf has flesh ream, that does a better job than "boost". xD

I have a Qingfu up at lvl 28 now.
Like senovit said, just time it so that your first spell hits just after the 2nd or 3rd attack by the Qingfu. I usually cast pet heal first or any other time I need to space out my magic attacks.

Usually what I will do is:

    1) Command my pet to attack the mob
    2) See for awhile, and perhaps heal my pet if need.
    3) Cast my skill 2-3 times, and heal again...

So that you won't get the aggro, and the mob came hitting at you...

Of course, if you spent a little money, you could get 3 hits in before... BEFORE your pet starts it's attacks, speeding up leveling.

Bash level 4 since 60, The only time I steal aggro is with my weak 15k criticals. :3

It is better for you to get L18 Volcanic Magmite (sp) outside human FB19 for land and a L8 bees for air pet.

I'm trying to level the Qingfu as high as I can just to say I leveled it from level 1 :) Still loving the Veno! A nice break from my boring Blademaster. It's definitely a coin gatherer.

Also, found the solution to keeping aggro on my pet. When I encounter multiple mobs, I have to let my pet hit each of them before I use the heal pet skill or spam spells or else one of them will come after me.

Get away from the mediocre and hurrah for diversity. To the veno with the level 28 Qingfu - all the more power to you!!!

I use a White_eyed Wolfkin. I had the problem with Flesh Ream (at level 3) not holding Aggro... sooo I went and taught my pet Bash, leveld it all the way up and yup! That worked fine! You can teach any pet ANY skill you want it to use. Just set it as your pets main attack and you should have no trouble.

Also, HOORAY for those of you that step away from teh normale "tank" pets. Magmites are great but my Wolfkin does JUST as well even if it has almost 1k less Phys Def. It's not as big and its much faster!

EDIT: I fixed that .. Annoying mistype, lol. Sorry. 4 am typing is BAD.
