Hit the wall after Level 20

My cleric seemed to hit the wall at level 20 and I now find quests extremely frustrating and tough to complete. I've gone for the 'mage' build with arcane armour. I've been following the different guides and I feel it's set up pretty well.

So is this normal for cleric at level 20+ or am I doing something fundamentally wrong?

By contrast, I've been playing a Veno the past week and I find it very easy to level. Even mobs several levels higher I can defeat easily by:
- casting a high level spell with some casting delay
- while casting, I send my pet into the front line for its special attack
- while the pet is attacking I finish off the mob with stock spells in short time without getting a scratch

So i guess the question is, is there an equivalent strategy to keep mobs from getting on top of you?

    Veno sux. b:laugh

If you want to play an easy class play Veno. However Clerics aren't that difficult to play either. I would advise you to get ironheart blessing and use it wisely. The idea (at least for me) is to get the attention of the mob your after then use ironheart then attack and keep using ironheart and attack on and off as is needed depending on the mob you are fighting. Also note that ironheart blessing stacks so if you are up against a mob that is doing an exceptional amount of damage on you then cast ironheart a couple more times.

There really is no way for you to not get hit as a cleric you will just have to tank or kite, kiting sux so I advise tanking using ironheart. :D

However from my experiance most people who have started playing Veno then try to play cleric go back to there Veno quite quickly, Cleric is a completely different can of worms. Good luck with your Cleric or your Veno whichever you decide to play.

Attack clerics or ATK find lvling nice and easy ^^

Hybrid clerics find fighting easy going but can also support well (iron heart blessing is a good spell to have)

FS or Full Support clerics are naturally doomed in fighting so find a good guild and pair with someone ^^

Hybrid clerics are the most common becouse they get the best of both worlds ^^
So for my bad spelling ^^

Yes, clerics have a tough go of it from level 20 to level 30-35 or so, because nearly all the mobs are physical ones. It will get easier, but until then I'd recommend:

    1. Squading with other people whenever possible
    2. Make sure you've done your call to duty and gotten your blue glowing weapon. This will make killing much easier and faster.
    3. Check out the auction house for good quality armor with +hp or +phys def. This will help you survive.
    4. The best approach I found to kill mobs fast is: cyclone > plume > cyclone > plume. Cyclone has a chance to slow (very, very good), while plume is your hardest hitting attack. You can make a macro out of it if you're really lazy. Keep those two attacks upgraded.
    5. Never underestimate the power of ironheart. If you are facing a particularly tough mob, use an ironheart on yourself before you start attacking. You can also go: cyclone > plume > ironheart > plume. You'd be surprised what you can take down after you've stacked a couple ironhearts on yourself.
    6. Archers are the bane of a clerics existence due to their ability to interrupt casting. If I'm fighting an archer mob and my spells get interrupted twice, I make sure to use an ironheart on myself before trying to attack again.
    7. Plume shell is your spell of last resort. It'll save your life if you happen to get ganged up on, but don't rely on it too much because of the high mana drain.

I remember it being easy in that range, hardest part was mid 10s for me. Which combo are you using? Should be starting off with Cyclone for the slowdown that lets you get an extra spell or two before they reach you.

Forgive the noob question, but what is kiting? I'm guessing it refers to attacking while flying...but the mobs run off and heal too quickly?

Kiting is when you continuously and strategically run away to avoid damage, while still trying to remain in combat. In PWI's case, you cast a spell, run backwards, cast again, run more to maintain a good distance, etc.

It doesn't really apply to flying while attacking ground mobs.

I hate kiting better to cast a couple of ironheart blessings on yourself before the dmg arrives ^^

and i shall point out IRONHEART BLESSING STACKS ^^

just cause people never seem to notice ^^
