Camera Zoom

I noticed that some people here would like to be able to zoom farther out, allowing them to see at a wider angle. I agree with this. However, I did notice something when I hit the F9 key. I clicked on the "zoom-out" arrow and it actually DID zoom me out farther than I could zoom out with my mouse wheel alone. I was excited, so then I hit F9 to exit camera mode...and it instantly zoomed right back in to where I was before. Sooo, it seems that the ability to zoom out farther is there...but is there a way to make it stick?

    i may be wrong but as far as i know there's not any way to make it stay zoomed out that far, sorry. =/
