Question about dyes

Let's say I have a clothing item which requires 6 pigments to dye.
Will I need 6 matching dyes to colour it, or only 1?

    ...... if it says it requires 6 pigments to dye then it requires 6 pigments. What you think by using non-matching pigments you will get a random color that did not exist?

    ........ Sorry if that sounded abusive or insulting but in my experience, unless otherwise stated if it requires <insert #> of something as part of a process (in this example 6 pigments to Dye a clothing item) than yes they must be of the same type.
    Perhaps the greatest secret to getting along with others lies in learning to respect their opinion(s) even while you disagree with them.

    The question is about QUANTITY of dye required.
    I want to know if one bottle of a specific coloured dye is sufficient to dye an item.

    I'm not trying to "get a random color [sic] that did not exist", I'm trying to get clarification on the function of bottles of coloured dye. If it says it requires 6 pigments to dye, it requires 6 pigments. There is no mention of the number of bottles of dye required to dye it.

    Sorry if that sounded abusive or insulting, but in my experience, if someone asks a simple question, unless otherwise stated, they are looking for a simple answer.

    Although they look like bottles of dye, they are classfied as pigments; therefore you must provide the required quantity of them to dye an article of clothing.

    simple answer being.......if it says 6 pigments are required you must use 6 pigments of the same color. b:victory
