Error updating on Vista??

okay, recently bought a laptop with Vista, and now PW wont update.

i can still log in normally if i select 'remind me later' every time i load the client, but it strokes out whenever i try to update.

wtf.

    Try the manuel patch found here:

    You may also need to set the launcher to Run as Administrator.

    okay... but the startup panel says im already running client version 16...

    is there actually an update available, or is it just a vista glitch?

    My version is at 16 so it must be some kind of a glitch though I have Vista too and am ingame now. Have you tried running it as adminitrator? Just right-click Perfect World and the third option should be "Run as Administrator".

    hmm, nope.

    when i start up the main panel, it prompts me to update, if i select 'remind me later' everything is roses.

    if i select 'update now', it brings me to 'update settings'.
    with the selected server of 'patch', i click 'confirm'.

    the client then goes to a window which states;
    1. preparing to update
    2. unable to close upda
    update interrupted.

    the client then closes completely.

    weird.

    Could you post your logfile please? Maybe that will help us determine what is wrong.

    i have that problem to, i go on to the perfect world box and starts to update, but at the task.exe file, it stops and says error and it starts again!????!!!!

    Same thing that guy said,i just finished downloading this mmo this mourning .
    Its a update screen and it always gives it errors.running it as admit does the same thing,it fails.
    I'm new tot his and don't know how to log in and start new profile.I signed up an account this website.Where could i post a picture of the error?
    do i link it in photobucket?

    Darkness7, your version of the problem usually indicates some sort of connectivity problem. Do you have a firewall, hardware or software, blocking access to 74.217.110.111 - 74.217.110.120, on any port?

    The game works now but doesn't let me update it.

    i jsut downloaded the game and I am trying to start it, but it says upload and it keeps saying "File download error" will autorety in _ seconds. I have vista, and i want to play this game. Is there any way to bypass this, or how do i get it to work? the file that has the error is serverlist.txt, when i clicked update i clicked patch, and then i checked all three boxes. THere it goes again, that makes 7 times that it says this. I want to play the game, I've been waiting since last night for this to upload. The graphics look awsome, and i wanna create my vecromancer. If you sugest the manual patch, which do i click, one or both, and do i run or save them?

    Considering that you only just downloaded you will need all the patches which means get both the 1-16 file and the 17-18 file. And it shouldn't matter whether you save or just run.

    i have same problem now!!! doing the manuel patch from 32-37 (mine is 32) and the manual patch always block and i sent a ticket of my dxdiag 4 hours ago. when is it going to be fixed???!!! and when are u going to reply my ticket????
