"Equipment locked. Unable to complete action."

For some reason, I cannot equip my untamed barbarian because this error message keeps popping up. It has never done that before. How can I fix this?
And yes, I do meet all of the stat requirements for them.

    I've had that same message when trying to summon a pet before. I just rebooted and it was fine. Not saying thats gona help.

    Any merchant type NPC has a repair option at the bottom right of their buy/sell screen.
