after character selection, game wont START

Hi, i have the following problem now... i can log in fine, i pick my character and then i hit the START button in the lower right corner.... the music keeps playing fine and the screen is just stuck like that.... when i ALT TAB out it says the game is not responding and i have to close it...


the thing is the game worked FINE until yesterday where i installed some amd dual core optimizer program to increase gaming performance... after which i get this problem now... im not SURE if it has anything to do with it but chances are it has... i uninstalled the prog. but its still not working...

anyone got any input?

    Go to the Character selection screen, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the task manager. In the
    processes tab, find elementclient.exe. Right-click on it and choose Set Affinity. Uncheck all but one processor. Tell us what sort of results you're getting, and the following fields from a DXDIAG.

    System Tab - System Information box -
    Operating System :
    Processor :
    Memory :

    To open a dxdiag :
    In Vista, type dxdiag in the Start menu search bar
    In other versions of Windows, type dxdiag in the Run command (Start > Run).

    Please do not use any symbols other than alphanumerics, commas, and periods.

    Here are the requested infos about my system:

    Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1Build 2600)
    Processor : AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+, MMX, 3D now, ~2.2 Ghz
    Memory : 1024 MB RAM

    I tried what you told me but the thing is as SOON as i get to switch out the resolution changes and in addition to that when i try to start up the task manager, i click it but it wont open... like the screen briefly flashes and it probably DOES open but i cannot see it, not sure if its cos of the small resolution or what... the only thing i CAN do to undo this situation is right click the elementalexe file and CLOSE it , then the resolution goes back to normal and windows tells me it had to close the program... so i cannot even access the task manager in that situation... is there a way to set this affinity when NOT in game??

    The Athlon 64 3500+ seems to be a single-core processor. AMD multicore processors usually have the phrase "X2" or "FX" involved. Especially since some of the 3500+ use a multicore base that had one core disabled, the Optimizer could certainly have been an issue.

    I don't have an AMD system to test uninstall at this time. My first guess would be to check for a driver the optimizer installed. You may need to call or contact AMD directly for more exact advice.

    help!

    i have the same problem here. tried to set the affinity of element client but it says access denied, Could do it with other programmes fine, but not element client.

    Corrupted installer?

    please help.

    m running on intel t2370 with vista premium and 2gb ram

    I had the same problem. One day out of the blue it gave me the crazy gibberish in the error box and wouldn't let me get past the character selection screen. Reading up on the forum, I clicked "Verify" on the PW loader, waited till it was done, and I could get back into the game no problem. Thank you mods who take time to fix our problems b:thanks
