im new =/ i quit conquer online with a bunch of friends and switched to this game ;p

basically im a lvl 12 wizard (jah, a noobcake, k) and i dont know what to do with socket stuff >_>; on conquer u put gems on them for boost so im guessing thats same here, i just dont know what to put into sockets or how to do it .. or what the point of the stars beside the items name are for ?

anyway, i can manufacture anything, but when i manufactured my boots, they wound up becoming 2 star blue texted charmed boots with 2 sockets, metal resistance +45 at bottom .. is that good? if so what can i sell them for or how long should i keep them? >_>; lol =( i was thrilled when i made it til i found a socket pant ... i thought it was like conquer in the sense that sockets were about luck and not drops from monsters ...but anyway... boots my best item i guess, but what kind of things can i put into my boots sockets ? =\ then i went to make me a cloak when i hit lvl 11, and it came out as cloak of clover 2 sockets ...same question there, what can i put in these sockets and how?

any tips or related information would be great =o( i wanna be strong =/ i kinda messed up my build on my character but im happies with it so far ^_^;; thanks.

Well, unlike conquer online, sockets are farily common in this game, both in weapons and in armor pieces, and yes the sockets work much the same way. Also just as in conquer online lower quality gems can be composed into higher quality ones...... you'll want to pay a visit to the Merchant and the Jewelcraftsman, you can read the descriptions of what the various gems do and can buy and compose them there. When you have the gems you want, they can be inserted into socketed items at the blacksmith or the tailor.

Sockets can hold Gems, which can be found from monster drops, purchased from Merchants and Jewelscraftsman, or synthed at a Jewelscraftsman. These provide (often large) bonuses to a stat matching that gem type.

The stars and text color of an item indicate its quality. More stars indicate higher quality, and usually come with better stats attached to their devices. You can find high-quality items from monster drops or quest rewards, but crafting tends to make them more often.

Lower level ones don't tend to sell too well, but higher level items with multiple stars (especially two-star chest pieces or other items that can be donated for reputation) tend to do very well.

Crafts skills are levelled by creating usable items from the current level of crafting (weapons, armor, jewelry, some charms).
