I know this would help take care of the bullying

This is regarding the PVP server.
PK bullies are becoming a problem and I think it would help if there was a limit on what levels they can attack. For example: Someone should only be able to attack those who are within 5 levels of themselves. That way, the high-level characters can't stand around and completely murder people much lower leveled than themselves! We want to be able to play the game. We get enough of this bullying **** in the real world.

    There's always PVE servers...

And to be honest, the whole "5-level range" concept would take some of the fun out of the game. High levels who sit around poking low levels is somewhat their own reward, no? They spent grueling hours of grinding to get to where they are.

It's a big world out there too. You can always run or something b:pleased

OK here's the thing whats to stop the level 60 bully from just making another toon to be with in a certain level range and just twink him out with the best gear that his level 60 can create/farm/buy, if they instituted this proposed 5 level range of yours?

Is constant harassment non stop an issue yes...

BUT I do agree with how Blizzard worded it in WoW. And that was basically its ok to PK and tease lower levels if you want, as long as your not completely and obviously preventing that person from being able to

    A) play at all (ie corspe camping)
    or
    B) complete quests ( ie killing all the Werewolf Spearmen in the area so they cant complete the quest to kill 35 of them).

Then that person can be reported and appropriate actions taken.

i have to agree with this post yes something needs to be done level limit whatever cause as it stands these people are only in game to grief /steal players items from unknowing lowbies many of these low lifes actually state in game they do it on purpose... yes its PvP broken PvP but PvP all the same and yes you can goto PvE but thats hard when friends and characters are already made on one server.... harassment is still harassment inside a game this needs to be dealt with permanently. it would be in real life asap why not here?

and ya sure its fun for the pkers but ur making a fun expirence for people into hell... and yet you dont feel bad???... lil heartless...

personally think after say 10+ plus white name kills baby dolls shouldn't work anymore or lower the chance after every kill that would stop the fools doing it if there gears dropped could even stop binds from working after 15+ white names or something similar

If you're a raving bunny hugger (as the OP, and a whole lot of people in this thread seem to be), then don't play on the PvP server. Simple as that.

If you're playing on a PvP server, deal with it. If you don't like it, get yourself onto a PvE server and stop crying.
    Everyone here is ridiculously oversensitive.

As much as I look down on the Griefers in this thread, I agree with the bolded. If you willingly walked into a den of wolves, either shoot some wolves or leave the cave. Don't complain about being bit when you can do something about it.

    Don't be their prey.

It's not the PKing that bothers me, it's when they PK people many many levels lower than them. Some people say it's their reward for working so hard to get to such a high level but if we keep getting PK'd by all the high levels, us lower-levels don't get anywhere fast (too busy DYING and recovering)

And the name-calling... that's just harassment. It doesn't matter if it's "funny" to the PKer or not.

I think a good idea would be to prevent the PKing of those under a certain level. Say 10, 15 or 20 or something. That way those just starting out can't be destroyed by higher levels. But like others said, you choose to play on a PvP server, you shouldn't expect everything to be happy and cheery and have no one kill you without your permission.

The idea that WoW used seems logical to me. A report system that if a PKing player directly and purposely prevents another player from playing the game for a person for extended periods of time, they can be reported to the admin, and banned or warned etc. It'll stop serial campers, and still allow high level players to enjoy themselves. And please, if you're that sensitive to name calling, get off the PvP server. You're in the wrong place.

You can't be PK'd until after lvl 30, but clerics are more healers than anything. When a Blademaster comes up to them, lvl 60 or 70, and takes down a lvl 30 or 35 cleric, they're just picking on someone MUCH weaker than themselves.

I don't expect things to be perfect, and I figured I'd be killed a few times in PvP anyway. But when PKers camp out an area and kill people repeatedly so that their quests can't be finished, and then they call them names just for kicks, is unfair.

But having leveled themselves up to such a high level, they have an unwritten right to pick on lower level players.
When they camp and area and kill people repeatedly is too far. Hence the suggested report system. Name calling is a given in any competitive gaming environment. That's just the way people are. From what I've seen, half the people on PW aren't intelligent enough to come up with decent insults anyway. And if you're sensitive to being called a 'noob', god help you.

STOP WHINING THE PART THAT DIED WAS THE WEAK PART NOW YOU ARE STRONGER.
and with great power comes great responsability...share it with the lowbies and gank a few here and there.

Here's how I view it all when I played WoW I played PvP i was ganked but in doing so I saw what other classes were able to do and I learned things my class could do to prevent it thus I became a better player overall. I also learned of methods to fight that I killed characters much higher level then me, granted it wasn't 100% successful but it was still great to see a little lowbie clothy take a high level plate wearer with **** armor and health numbers get down to at least 50% each time.

That brings back memories. I remember being ganked back at Tarren Mill all the time. When I got back to Tarren Mill when I was lvl 70, I hunted down every ganker I saw with my mage.

I undestand the point of how frustrating it is to be PKed while you are out questing or in route to help others. However, this is a PvP World and there are two choices, either leave the server or find a way to deal with it. It used to frustrate me all out being PKed 6 times in less than 20 minutes, but I also am the one who went to a wraith raid where there was a lot of AOE going on and there are people who are just going to try their might against you. But I agree with the fact of turn your PK time into a learning experience. Find out how well you do and don't do and improve. I know I can take on levels higher than me if I can get close but if they are ranged then I'm most likely dead. Thus I need to learn more on ranged. I've learned how I fair on gang up PKing as well. That is what this server is all about learning to survive in a PvP world. If that is not what you want then I would suggest either leaving or finding a way to deal with it. As far as the honor goes, well, I really don't expect it. There are those who will prove their might while your HP are down and you are busy fighting something else. If that is what it takes to make them feel big, oh well. That's their ride.

Just because it might be a "normal" so-called humanly action for people to call others unnecessary names doesn't mean it's the right thing to do...and this is something that a lot of people are misunderstanding. Those things can be avoided so easily...and again, it's unnecessary. s:

I do find that a way higher leveled person, say, a level 60, PK'ing a freshly turned level 30 is a bit of a disadvantage, even if the level 30 character was supported and grouped with another person or two. A level range limit would at least give everyone a chance at both winning or losing a fight (I would say about ten levels higher and lower than what you are) and would be a nice feature for some people, but I doubt it's going to happen. However, another solution is to just simply move from the PVP server to the PVE and when you get at a comfortable level, you can turn on PK mode whenever you please...or if you wish to stay on the PVP server, join up with some nice guild that'll go pwn the person that killed you, lol.

No idea how exactly one would be able to tell who is in their range limit unless there was like some symbol or different coloured name or something, I don't know. But yeah, my two cents, lol.

Edit: And I also agree with a lot of what Rowlin (above poster) said, like, it's about surviving it and if you don't like it, leave or just find a way to deal with it all.

Ah, well over here we call that not very mature. But hey.. you are probably 10 years old anyway.

I think the 5 level difference rule is abit too much though.
Having pk-ers around is exciting, no matter how you look at it.

Maybe you shouldnt have chosen a pvp server?

The main problem with this is that most pker's will have no one to kill. They aren't able to kill anyone that is in their level range so they have to do it this way.b:laugh

See whats you dont understand is all those high levels levelled up without having to deal with people pking them permanently because they were all levelling together and no one was higher than them. The people just starting now feel the effects, eg it took my friend 3 days before he could do his fb29 due to RQ standing in the door way.

However I do think 5 levels is a bit over the top people within 10 levels would make my life alot easier. Im sick of level 75+ RQ running in and one shotting me from behind and running away before I can talk Smack.

Call me Carebear, but I fully support this idea.

Lol! If this idea was stolen from the POS game RuneScape, then where did the rest of the other features already implemented in the game come from? Were they "stolen" from WoW? How about FX, or Ragnarok and FlyFF, etc.?

Anyway, anyone who hasn't read through Calme's post should do so. It makes perfect logical sense and I agree with them completely.

Does PVE server sound familiar? b:bye

And Calme there is always teleporting. Honestly we didn't come to a PVP server for it to be instantly changed into a PVE one. That would defeat the purpose of it being what it's called.

When I hear peopel complain about getting killed or kos etc, it makes no sense to me because you should have known what would happen.

Put two and two together. PVP and Americans = Massive pking and out raging battles that last forever. So no... That rule would lead to a semi PVE server that would make no sense seeing as you already have two of those......
i say you write down their name build up, and hunt them down when you can take them :)

being a low lvl on the pvp server gets really annoying when i went and created a player on the server soi can meet my mate on there i was met by a high lvl in my journey to lost city for the first time i got quite annoyed as he kept doing it time and time again until my mate found me and dueled this guy so i could run.

i agree with the limit thing but make it 10 max
