I can not use any of the movement keys in game. W,A,S,D,Z, and space bar only works to jump on land but will not make me go up in water or while flying. All keys work fine for text and also to move in other games. I searched the forums and installed the east asian language packs and checked all the apropriate ones from the list. I have the game installed on 2 differant computers and have the same problem on both. Both systems are different brands and neither use the same model keyboard.
Please, is there anything else anyone can think of that I might have missed.

What are the make and model number of both of your keyboards?

Did you send us the dxdiag logs and hijackthis logs for both of the problem computers as we asked?

Got the model number for 1, the other didnt even list one. I sent the entire logs as I wasn't sure if you needed the whole thing or not.
Was just posting here in case someone else had the same prob and had found the answer. Wasn't meaning to ask the same person twice, I appologise for that.

Did you pick up the keyboard and look on the bottom of it?

There should be numbers and the name of the company on the bottom of each keyboard.

Oh, no worries. You're not asking the same person, as many people see all new posts as they are posted throughout the forums.

Yes, the keyboard for my sons computer just has a serial number sticker on the bottom. It is just a basic keyboard that came with his systemax computer. It actualy says Standard Keyboard engraved above that serial number.

It may be a computer setting, software setting that is messing up your WASD usage.

Have you tried running the game in Windowed mode? The setting can be changed from the in-game Settings.

Have you tried a new cheap keyboard to see if it has the same problem?

If it does have the same issue, something on those computers are not playing nice.

I am playing in windowed mode currently, I have also tried swapping the keyboards out with each other to no avail. I did spend all day reading through the forums and trying what others who had the same probs suggested. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I'm at a loss so far. I can still play the game with the mouse but swimming and flying are a bit of an issue until I figure out what I've overlooked.

    Have you tried the following:

You can try deleting your systemsettings.ini file for Perfect World International.

Go to My Computer and go here:

    C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\userdata\

(Note: This is the default location on your computer that the game installs to. It may be different if you changed it during installation.)

You will see a file named systemsettings.ini . Delete it.

Then re-start your game. The settings will be set back to the default settings as when you first installed the game.

Just did that and ran game in "optimised" mode. wow that looks horrible and it had no effect on the movement keys. Thank you for the quick responces, I'm willing to try as many as you can throw at me.

Do you have a spare keyboard you can plug in and try it with?

Are they USB or PS/2 keyboards? Or, how are they plugged into your PCs?

Have you installed or updated your direct x after you installed the game? Upgraded windows to SP3?

Have you tried other games that use those keys for gameplay and see if you have the same results?

I'm jokingly going to say both your keyboards are cursed. b:pleased

Try getting or borrowing a different keyboard and trying it out. Sounds like you may have some kind of virus or spyware messing with your systems, you might need to take your computers in to get looked at and have diagnostic software ran on them.

If you find out, let us know. It is a weird issue to have that none of us here have encountered, or can reproduce yet.

I figured it out! I use SnoopFree Privacy Shield wich I highly reccomend to others. It blocked the keyboard hook the game uses (wich it was supposed to do). I allowed the hook (wich does make me nervous) and all works as it should.

Ah, the password protection program of PWI's that runs along side the game, or one of the other game processes being blocked. Did not think that would be it.

    Good find, thanks!
