For the patch update please try the mirrors here:

Also what kind of connection to the internet do you have? Make sure it does not get disrupted by things such as a microphone or telephone.

If you're running an internet connection over wireless, please consider switching to a physically wired connection. If that's not possible, check for any 2.4 Ghz interference such as microwaves or cordless phones between your computer and router, and update the drivers for your wireless device.

If you have any firewall programs, please make sure to define an explicit allow for the ElementClient.exe or TCP port 29000 outbound.

Thank you, but I'm up to date with the patcher, my firewall is allowing the programs, and I have high speed cable internet...any other suggestions?

Updates for your wireless card's drivers may help. If you have a separate router and modem, please contact your ISP about the behavior your getting -- you may need to switch your modem to Bridge mode, if it's not already configured as such.

    you're using Vista.

right click on the launcher. select run as administrator.

you'll have to do this every time that you log in... you'll be fine from now on.

    enjoy
