1. Download the client at http://www.perfectworld.com/download/client Try the Direct download link or button.
Note: If you are having problems completing the Direct or Bit Torrent downloads, please try downloading the incremental downloads (Parts 1-4), or try downloading the game from one of the mirror sites that are listed. Make sure that you are downloading Perfect World International version.

Yeah well, i have a slow connexion, so I tried bittorent at first... 5kb/s I was...like... WTF? Generally i have bittorent speed around 30-40 kb/s , so I tried the 4 part download.
So, after 4 days (1 part each day) and aprox. 30 hours of downloading, i finally finished downloading the whole client.
Now i click on "part 1", then "install", i wait 10 min or so ( dunno, i went eating... >_< ) and when i return "problem extracting files, crc error etc..."

Way to go. Thanks a lot!

Now what? Delete 2.4 GB... and re-download them? Like hell I do that!

If you're gonna be that stingy about 6 bucks you probably won't want to play this game anyway :p

I played a lot of F2P games without even going once to the "item shop". I mean if we want to pay, we just go for a mmo with a monthly fee, it's much better, and it cost the same as going to the "item shop"...
So... hmmm let's see, maybe i'll try the .exe client ( can I resume download or not?) or the torrent. But not now.

Thanks anyway. See you.

If you cant be bothered to pay 6$ shipping or take time to DL again then perhaps you should try another game.

If you dont intend to help with the upkeep and furtherance of the the game then I dont think the GM's and so on care if you play or not.

Good luck.

So? No critics allowed?

And read correctly, i said i'll try to re-download the client. ;)
So... hmmm let's see, maybe i'll try the .exe client ( can I resume download or not?) or the torrent. But not now.

Well, of course, if I don't pay, i'm of no use, or not much, but since it's a FREE 2 PLAY game, it's only logical not to pay.
If I was plaiying a mmo with monthly fees, i don't mind paying 6$. But here it's free to download and free to play.

I understand that for them, the item shop is crucial ( even if i don't understand players paying... just go to a monthly fee it's better), but well... making me pay for something that i can have for free... I think it's abused.

So i'm not going to use the shipping method, i'll try to redownload the client one more time, and if it doesn't work, i'll just return here and tell : "just make some effort with the client downloading, nowere else it's like that." ( Yes, it's the first time it's happening for me! Downloading the same thing twice... )

Short answer: your internet sucks majorly. Don't complain about it on the forums, its not going to make your internet faster.

Aren't the 4-chunk downloads RAR types ?
Those usually have error correction code included, you may try a repair from winrar.

But basically, yes, CRC errors during transmission means your ISP is crappy, PWi can't do a thing about that.

My honest suggestion would have to be just forgot about it until you have a better connection..... it's not likely that the game would play very smoothly for you anyway with a crappy connection, so maybe just save yourself the potential headache and wait.

Or if you just have to try it, maybe try downloading the full client file at a friends house onto a thumb drive, most average cable broadband connections can pull it in 2 hours or less.

The CD may be an alternative for some, but I likely would never go that route either.... it's not so much the $6 shipping that puts me off, but the fact that i'd have to wait forever to recieve it by snail mail, and by the time I got it, I'd probably already have lost interest.

So basically you are trying to say to me that the "4 part client" ( yes it's .rar type, i tried to repair yesterday, but it didn't work) is for slow connection (like it is said in this site) and... not for the slow connexion due to the problem of the "crc error"?
What a bad joke ^^b:chuckle

My honest suggestion would have to be just forgot about it until you have a better connection

That would be in.... 2030 in my country. b:laugh
You can't know about that so i'll tell you, but nobody here have a good connection, and their is quota of max download per month. ( if we have "fast" connection, and "fast" here isn't 30mb/s it's 1mb/s connection, and the quota is at 3 GB per month.)

Yeah i know, i don't have a good connection, but until I try this client, i didn't have any problems, or error downloading/playing any games, and I was really pleased with reviews/critics I read about perfect world... so i'm very disapointed now.

So i'll just try the .exe client, i'll see if i can resume, and if not, i'll just put the torrent.... >_<

Well it took me 14 minutes to download the game.
But seriously? 30 hours to download all the parts?
Like the other guy said dont even bother you will probably d/c every 5 minutes with **** like that.
OR maybe move to a 2nd or 1st world country? b:shutup
I used to do drugs, I still do but I used to too.

30 hours is nothing for me. I mean I already downloaded games that have a 3 or even 4 GB client... with no problems. ( and it wasn't in .rar files)
So, it was because of the .rar type files here. But I mean... it is said that it's for "slow" connection. Next time I won't listen. b:chuckleb:laugh

If the client .exe accept the resume download so it's no problem for me. I really want to play this game. ( maybe i'll be disapointed once I do that, but maybe not^^ )

every single .rar (#1 - #4) should be extracted before installing game.
if that doesnt work. you should try and install download manager freely distributed in google.
install it and use it to download, you should not have problem.

i've had problems like you back in the days /w slow speed of internet connection.
IE/FireFox fails to download correctly once in a while(when downloading large files)
using download manager fixed my problem.

software you can get is... flashget, orbit downloader.. etc

Firstly, I have a download accelerator, and secondly, it can't extract due to the "crc error", so most of the files are corrupted ( and I have already deleted them anyway. ) , and all I have to do is download the .exe client.... should have done that from the beggining. >_< ^^
