ya its a grate game and u can play with out zen but u rlly should get atleast 2 gold per zen0

The idea could be this: Either they risk getting fewer players to buy with real money, but still make a high profit. Or, they lower it, and they got a whole ton of new peoples buying stuff.
That's the way I see it.
Not that I'll ever be buying anything, anyways -- Or at least, anytime soon, the way I see myself.0 -
imo it's not all that bad compared to a lot of other MMOs I've played (some decent mounts/rides coming out to about 70 dollars, and the whole upgrade system being CS), so I'm not complaining. It's a nice change to come onto PW and see that you can buy mounts from an NPC, or craft your own items with stuff found in-game. It's like what.... 1$ per 1 gold? Correct me if I'm wrong. And like all the others say, don't pay if you don't want to. People sell CS in-game all the time, and it's not all too hard to earn up the coins to buy it, it just takes a little more work.0
-
So the items from the cash shop are more and more needed as you progress. At first the game can be played easily without the cash shop, but once you're committed u need more and more items from the cash shop. That's weird...
I spend some money ingame, but only to discover my buck aint worth much. The information in the cash shop is misleading or incomplete too. Add to that, we are paying for items that do not exist in real life.
Anyhow, I'm quiting PWI because of these reasons.

I bought 20G.
I bought:
Strider Vestment
12(!) Training Esoteria
1 Silver Health charm
And my Manta mount!
Sure, some people might think that things seem expensive, but if you look closely, you realise that the really important things (XP Scrolls, Guardian Angels, Bronze/Silver Charms, Arcane Tomes) are actually available with a minimum purchase. you just need to shop around, instead of just buying one of everything.
And buying fireworks.
Muskie
You really need to wait until you hit level 60 or above and THEN tell me how CHEAP you think it is to level...I"m level 60 cleric and although I CAN play for free...without mana hieros (which when you hit 60 your using 1 every 3 hours at least) if you use potions it takes twice as long to level almost because the mobs you are killing eat up most of your manna in battle and you end up spending more in potions than you do on hiero's. And as I've already stated hiero's may be cheaper than pots but if your having to spend either 250k every 2 to 3 hours for a hiero (and that was before the halloween event blew out the gold market and made gold and hiero's skyrocket) or $2.50 each every 3 hours...well you do the math and tell me how cheap you think the game is then.0 -
May I suggest the Apocathery items? They're very cheap, and Focus Powder (and later, Concentrate Orb) items can be a massive boost. They can't completely get rid of downtime, if you're draining a full bar of mana that fast, but they can certainly reduce it far more economically than quaffing potions.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I would like to add that games like WOW charge 15 a month and Guild wars charge about 150 for their set but this game is free, I personaly think that how they charge is fine. PWI is an amaizing game for it being the price it is, now if you have to pay 50$ for a pet or mount then so be it... but that is just my opinion...0

ok, i tried posting here and it only showed not even a quarter, edited tried again same prob, fix it plz admins/gms so i can rant at full capacity! and no, i didnt use quick reply if that would have anything to do with limiting typing space o.o0
-
I suggest to lower the price and increase the dosage for the pots to solve the problem as i am rather worry about getting to that level now. I personally feel the pots are really too expensive, and doesn't seems to work that effectively.0
-
Let's make one thing clear guys. No one is making you pay $50 for a mount, no one is even making you pay any money for the game. A mount of the same speed can be obtained for much less, 3.5m in game gold, even less than that if you are good at bargaining, I personally got a Deer with Spurs for only 1m.
If you can't afford Charms with in game gold them I'm afraid you fail this game. Go do a little merchanting and earn your self some gold, in game economy is just as much a part of MMOs as leveling and equiptment. The prices are perfectly fine as they are, they give the game more challenge without rendering it unplayable. Sure you can go play on MY-EN, but that also means you get to play on servers where 1 guild owns all the land. You'll also find the economy is horribly inflated, bots and spam are poorly managed and put up with bad pings. You (Or judging by the looks of things, someone else) pay for the service you receive, the server has been good so far, a guild has already been caught and punished for fake bidding, there is almost no spam concerning gold selling or that stuff and there is hardly any bots running around.
Honestly, inventory extensions are a luxury, if you can't afford it with in game gold then don't get it. I my self am quite poor in game, but even I can scrape together enough money to get Inventory Extensions when I really need it, I am also constantly equipt with HP and MP charms which I try to purchase more of once they get down to 15% or less.0 -
Rofl, how interesting. A lvl 22 talking about buying charms.
Wait till you get to level 60+ and start realising how much fun it is to use up 5-6 charms per day. Trust me, you'll love it. And so will your wallet.
I myself am out for now. Was planning on buying some **** beforehand, but I just recently broke my finger in a training accident and realised that it's a good time to take a break. Once I heal up I might come back if prices drop, if not, oh well, it's been fun. =]
Huh? O_O... what lvl are u? Seriously if u use up 5-6 charms a day, ur either constantly zhenning (which is not a requirement, its just a way to get easy xp) or u die ALOT... There may be other ways ur burning up that much hp/mp, but seriously I don't know what it could be.
and to all of you who are being mean to those who think heiro cost isn't that bad, just because you need gazillion heiros just to fight a boss.... L2P. Healers heal ur tanks, tanks build properly (clue... ur heiro will not tic if u stop the bosses skill), DD's wait to attack till the tank has aggro and build properly so ur putting out enough dmg instead of compensating w/ skilll spammming. With 1 single mp powder you can spam heal for a boss fight and not even tic ur heiro. Maybe some new blood gives a fresh look on the game and what is actually required.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
yes the prices in this version are way too high.
*Please do not advertise other games*.0 -
I just want to say I buy gold and I agree that some of the items in Cash Shop should be lower it hasn't stopped me and it probably never will. I like the game enough that I want them to be profitable. So I will continue to purchase gold and consider any price lowering a bonus. Thank you PWI for a great game.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

lower the zen and ull have way more people buying stufff DUH0

Ofcourse you can use pots and mana regen drinks, but you will use thousands of them in just few hours and you have to be either rich to buy them or spent more then half your playing time grinding herbs which kinda fast destroy fun from game.
There was some post from cleric before that its not problem spend 200$ a month just for charms if you play just for few hours a day on higher lvl.0 -
ZEN prices are way to high. If you just go look at other versions and see prices of things in their cash shops you arent actually seeing it right... if that makes sense. The price per ZEN is $1 on this version, on the Malaysian version it is 30 CENTS per Cubi-gold, which is even higher than it started out to be (was more around 15 cents per if i remember correctly). Their mounts and fashion might cost more of their Cubi-gold (which is like ZEN) but it is actually closer to even with us. I would have to say some of their big things would cost more, but their hieros and other stuff like the lovely, almost worthless (good for WQ), geographical map that cost $5 bucks on this version is alot cheaper there (just an example). I say give you more ZEN for your money or cut the price of everything in the cash shop in half. But, make sure that prices of things compared to others make sense. (referring back to my geographical map example)
*EDIT*
BTW problem with adjust alot of prices in the cash shop and of ZEN itself can mess with the economy of the game. Happened on MY-EN and destroyed the game, but i think our ppl can do a better job =D[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

If a healing cleric is using a charm to manage their energy, they either are bad at math or don't know what they are doing.
When healing you can buy the 50 regen mana powders at 4k each and still get over 3 times as much mana per thousand spent from that than you would from using a charm. The only time a cleric should rely on their charm, is when they are attacking. At that point it is just more convenient to use the charm for a constant flow of dmg.
And for the people saying you use 5-6 charms at 50+, how terrible are you? When I was lvl 60, I was soloing the foxwing supremes and each silver charm would last me 9 and a half hours of non-stop killing. It was easy to count, as I was using xp scrolls at the time, and the charm would fail near the end of my 10th scroll. And I have yet to spend a dime on this game.
Now that we have gold scrolls, it's even easier to go without spending as much money. Those things last a long time, with a reasonable cost. Though clerics have the option of doing solo aoe, which doesn't even require a scroll at all. Killing 16+ lvl 72 mobs for less mana than you have in your bar, just means you have to rest up a bit in between mob runs. Partner up and it gives a constant stream of killing as one lures while the other meds.
Not sure if they are talking about only certain classes, but as a lvl 74 cleric that 5-6 charms a day is complete BS. I will have my gold charm lasting well into 30 hours of non-stop grinding.0 -
You know, PWI just came out of testing. It's barely been 6 months. The prices will hopefully go down. For now the staff needs cash or the game goes away. You don't NEED zen. Don't buy it. I haven't and I'm not a bad player. I'm pretty good.0

thats y i quit.... plus i like this new idea i came up with better lolAelric - Lost City wrote: »I say lower the price per ZEN (gold) by 35%... that means it will cost $0.65 per ZEN instead of $1. That means for $20 you can get 30 ZEN (actually comes out more than 65 cents per) which is 10 more than right now. This isn't that big of a change and I personally think it would make a very good difference. I have checked the Auction House to see the gold sales, and there is barely any being sold. Also, players shops very rarely say they are selling anything from the Boutique. If you think about it, if you want to buy a pair of pants (using male as an example) most are 3 gold. That means you would pay $3... kinda steep imo. But if they would lower the price with my suggestion it would be $1.95-$2... not that much of a difference but much better. b:pleased
Just a little idea that I would think would work idk b:laugh

hey i like 68 and i only go thought 1 hp charm every 4 months(and i do play nonstop like a zombie. i think mainly cuz of the cheep veno skill that swaps the values also the fact that i dont have any into vit so i guess it depends)0 -
Zen price is fair to me ,,,0

if you need 5-6 charms a day then maybe your char just insn't good enough
Umm, agreed there. I bought one each of the gold charm packs when they were on sale... and I'm still using them, and have one of each left in the bank. Someone buy this person some reset scrolls as they need to re-do their build...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

If you think PWI's prices are high, then you are on crack and need some serious help. They are by far the lowest I've ever seen(especially considering its based in north america). Of course its cheaper on different versions of PW, because they are in different countries. It may be cheaper for north americans to purchase items on those servers, but think about how equally(or more) expensive it is for the local residents of that version... Plus they are the only mmorpg I've seen where you can buy cash shop items with in game money, its pure choice and I think everyone should be grateful to PWI instead of complaining about these amazing deals...0
