Why Do you like Perfect World?

Hey, everybody. I wanted to know why you liked Perfect World, because I quit, but im thinking of coming back. This kinda just helps me decide. ^-^
So is it worth coming back then, because all I see are basically good things? But I don't want to be disappointed like the last time before I quit.
~My Story~
Found the MY-EN version of this game. Signed up, tried to download....phail. T.T
Found the PWI closed beta announcement one day while searching for MMORPG's. Signed up downloaded, played all night. The game was really fun, I got confused alot because I didn't know what everyone was talking about. (everyone used abbreviations). I played this everyday during closed beta, found myself a guild (Conqueror). Found absolutely nothing wrong with the game (just my computer b:chuckle, couldn't handle the graphics I wanted ). Made alot of friends, Held the ever so famous Fireworks Show in Pierced Heart Lake. (Yes that was me xD I got alot of flame from that, even had some people try and kill us =O. Till they figured out we were too low level to be pk'ed).
Open Beta came around and I was still in Conqueror. Helped in the very first TW they had. Loved it, made some friends. Then everything went down-hill.
I wasn't active enough (my dad made me stop playing because of school), got kicked out of Conqueror (b:cry) Friends cared more about leveling then the general social aspect. Leveling became a pain, the hunting quests were extremely boring and way too repetitive, never could find the monsters/NPC's i needed. Find Quest button didn't help at all (doesn't get 123, 545 <-example). The arrows that pointed you to quests I find flawed, they don't point to the area/NPC that you need, Just the NPC you got the quest from. -.-"
Maybe I just had a bad experience but....It sucked. Made me quit and uninstall the whole game. b:cold. Despite the great time I had in CB/OB (closed beta/open beta) .b:cry
Yes, I know I posted this as a reply, but i decided to put it here.

I like perfect world because of the vast space in the game, also character customization. Also there are a few features im looking forward to such as building a house.I'm not mean I'm just being honest.
I'm not insensitive, I just don't give a S.H.I.T!
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Plusses :
- Character customizations
- gold market
- quality of the world itself
- ability to actually progress without spending a single cent if you're crafty enough.
Minusses :
- lag
- ressource hog
- bloody right handed keyboard[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Thanks guys.b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

The main reason I liked Perfect World is because of the character creation system.0
-
Honestly, this game is great because it incorporates all the pluses of other games, and irons out the flaws of many other games as well. Fast leveling, many quests [reached lvl6x before I had to actually grind out a level or two], "Find Quest" button, Cash Shop with method of buying CS gold via in-game money, character customization, LARGE map divided into distinct territories and towns, Territory Wars, open PvP [w/ optional PvE server for those who play very casually], dungeons and instanced events [puzzle cube, rebirth of the gods(once they fix the bugs), swimsuit event, etc.], trade stand AND auction house system, efficient GM's, VERY good graphics in respects to other F2P MMO's and even some P2P MMO's, FLYING!, EXTREMELY detailed and diverse armor/weapon sets, glowy weapons AND armor, fashion option, and many more things I probably missed. The only concern I've really had so far is I wish it were more like WoW where you can actually raid towns without being in the instanced TW's. However, there are way too many carebears on this server that would rage quit if they were killed in a town instead of moving to the PvE sever so, unfortunately, us non-carebears get to miss out on all the would-be fun. ^^0

I like it because you're not required to play with other players if you want to get ahead, but can still be social as well.0
-
Pro:
- Character Customization
- Cash Shop instead of monthly fees (really hate those)
- Large world
- Good balance between solo and group content
- Standard but interesting classes.
- Items
- Crafting system
- Glowing weapons and armor!
- Stable game
- Trading support (kitty stores are sooo FTW..)
Con:
- no keyboard customization.. *ugh*
- Meager sound effects
- Area design feels incomplete at times (barren mountains, vast grasslands without plantlife etc.)
- Engine performance could be a bit better[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

1.Leveling became a pain, the hunting quests were extremely boring and way too repetitive,
a bit true but you have quests with rewards not just grind, until lvl 40+ you dont even have to grind , leveling slows down in 40s and 50s a bit but its still quite fast, you even get a daily quest at 40+ for (practically) free xp/spirit
if you think leveling was a pain already then maybe the majority of mmmorpgs aren't for you.
1never could find the monsters/NPC's i needed.

they point to whoever is listed that the quest points to in the quest information window (right side of quest window bottom part will be last location on list)0 -

Lol u complain about the carebears, but deep down u know its fun when they talk nonsense saying "ur ruining the game for me, blah blah blah." Psychological warfare, its not only entertaining, but it shows whose smarter than who and who is fit to survive in the real world.I'm not mean I'm just being honest.

This attitude is why I enjoy slaying greifers. To give em a taste of their own medicine.
The wolf hunts the sheep while I hunt the wolf.
Besides that, a lot of free to plays use cash shops to sell you things that pay to plays have in their game from the get-go.
The most I'm willing to spend in a free to play's cash shop is 15 dollars a month, because that's how much a pay to play usually costs.
If the cash shop's items cost more than 15 dollars a month, then that makes the free to play game more expensive than the pay to play game.
And that defeats the purpose of the game being a free to play.0 -

I play on the PvP server and dont cry when I get killed. (In a duel anyway, quit before I hit pvp level). That was my 2 cents anyways....This attitude is why I enjoy slaying greifers. To give em a taste of their own medicine.

Yes, I know I posted this as a reply, but i decided to put it here.
The getting gkicked, and the friends issue are yours alone, those have nothing to do with the game itself. Going inactive in a guild after X period of time usually ends up in a parting of the ways. Those friends were not good friends?
I doubt quests have changed. Quest X says kill 20 Fluffy Bunnies. Kill them and turn, you level. Don't kill them, you get another quest instead where you need to gather 25 carrots for the bunnies.
This is typical of most MMO's, and it isn't the only way to level.
On the coordinate thing.. you didn't read the guide. PW's coordinate assistant is a wonderful tool most MMO"s don't have.
http://www.perfectworld.com/guide/interface/minimap
See Coordinates Assistant, item 2.
The arrows are occasionally misguiding.. other wise, they point at the person you turn in TO, not the quest giver.
The bulk of the reasons you gave for quitting were basically your own doing in the first place.....0 -
This game seems to me to be more of a Casual/Arcade rather than an RPG. That is not a knock, just an observation. The question of if its worth coming back or not can be answered by what you like.
The reason I say its more Casual/Arcade is that for the most part the "quests" of this game consist primarily of Kill X amount of mobs or Gather X amount of items. The only quest that really had any real story to it was the quest with Gorski. Which I say that because Running me from one guy who gives me one paragraph in a city to five other guys in five other cities with five more single paragraph responses, only to end up having to kill X mobs is not really a story. World of ******** is a good example of what I mean by stories, at least for those who did not spend 65 levels in the dungeon finder. The hundreds of quests with stories that are not simply kill or gather. There are even quests that change the players perception of the world itself. On the other hand there are quest lines that do fall into the kill/gather category but they are the exception not the rule.
On the other hand, people who enjoy fighting through dungeons and battling creatures with little more reason other than "those are the bad guys". Will find this game quite satisfying. By example Soulcalibur the story is limited to a few text on the load screen and in the extra content, after that your off to battle a set of other warriors for possession of more gear. Its exciting to be in the heat of a fight where split second reactions determine victory or defeat. There is no real need to go into greater detail about why your there or what your doing. It is there for Casual/Arcade fun nothing more, nothing less.
I would say the only difference between the perfect world Causal/Arcade experience and any other, other than the obvious RPG style. Is the social interaction. So that is not to say that this cannot be an excellent RPG if your out to make friends and have a more social experience while the game itself is more of a background, then this is the Perfect World. The problem is there are not may people who play perfect world who actually know how to Role Play. So for the most part you probably wont find this to be the RPG experience it could be. Though there is the possibility. However it is a slim possibility, therefore it would be wise to enter the game with the perspective that there will be only minor story lines, and a lot of people simply interested in nothing more than getting to the next level and getting the next set of armor and weapons.0 -

ignoring the fact, that this thread is from2008!!
its nowhere near "casual"
and the high lvl content is all squad based unless you have the right class and gear
the stupid sidequests are not necessary since they added bounty hunter as well
and some quests are actually interesting
