TW: Hiding in catapaults revisited

Alright, so GM's (Xarfox especially), here's your hard evidence of the supposed hiding in cata glitch/bug abuse that was noted to be an unintended use of catapaults in TW.

If you go and talk to any of the Battle Coordinators they provide full tutorials on how to participate in Territory Wars and purchase catapults. What the Battle Coordinators don't tell you is that you can hide inside of your catapult so other players can't click on you. There's a reason for that, and that reason is that it is not the intended way to use them.

First and foremost let's not start a flame war on the boards. Now we realize that a lot of our players are originally from PW-MY where a lot of things were not policed. We here at Perfect World International are dead serious about fairness and glitching.

We will soon be revising the Territory War rules in order to include the abuse listed in the above post. In the future, if you ever see anyone abusing this bug, please submit screenshots via our Customer Support Ticketing System at:

We will look into each report and investigate every case we receieve. The Territory Wars page will be updated later today to reflect this new policy change, and any offenses from this day forth will be dealt with swift and serious repercussions.

Better than screenshots, here's a video from last night's (Nov. 8, 2008) of all four Conqueror hiding in cata. Full version link where you can clearly see names is also available on the YT description.

Just to clarify for everyone that participates in TW, is what's shown in the video, legal, or illegal, based upon PWE GMs' view of the "bug?" It's still being freely used in TW, at least by Conqueror.

    I believe xarfox said that before he knew you could select them with ALT + click. I think its perfectly legal and it just makes sure your party and guild can communicate well. If a party member has them selected its their job to tell you and your job to use the assist attack function. I have never had a problem selecting them with alt click.

    come on, it's sth normal, u can select while holding Shift or Alt whichever is it, and hiding in cata is just: hiding from noobs who don't know how to hit it...

    LOL what a drama bomb of a lame video.

    You're supposed to kill the catapult carriers BEFORE they are inside your base and attacking your stuff. Learn to play the game please and stop asking for things to be made easier so you get a chance to.

    other end of the Map UL were hiding in catapaults also, so what do we do? hold down alt click on catapault and the player is selected

    now stop crying about nothing and tell us what territory you would like to do without next weekb:victory

    Its all depends on GM lol just tell ppl if can or cant hide under catapult

    do GMs really have to tell u everything u can do? the community is not ****,
    GMs told us what is NOT legal to do,
    if hiding inside cata is not in that list, than DO it
    and if we, Conq can hide inside, why others couldn't? TW if fair....

    Please submit issues such as this via email and not on the forums.

    This will simply cause a flame war between the two guilds.

    The Territory Wars page was indeed updated since my initial post that's quoted above. You'll notice that hiding in catapults is not listed as an offense.
