I gave my character a full attack build... So how do I get out of playing the "healer" part in squads... I don't want to stand in the background healing the tank 24/7.. I want to fight. And I can do a lot more damage a lot more quickly than the tanks and most everyone else.. So what do I say to people? As I've noticed this game really boxes you in when it comes to professions.. Really really badly. Do I just refuse to heal? Because people actually get mad at clerics for fighting and not healing I have noticed.. which is absolutely ridiculous... Do I tell them I'm a fighter not a healer from the start? Healing tanks is a bore! I didn't know anything about the game when I picked my character and still think it would be a great profession if only the professions weren't so boxed in and limited in this game... The way the game is set up regarding the professions is horrible, imo.

First off, if you have a full attack build then you can't heal a tank worth a damn for the most part. You should have Ironheart Blessing lvl1, Revive lvl1 and Purify lvl1 plus the starting heal. You really shouldn't be going past level 1 for healing skills.

Even if you do have enough skills to heal a tank perfectly fine, make it clear when you get squad invites that you're an ATTACK cleric not a healer. Eventually you will find a group that'll accept this and just needs another DDer.

How you advertise yourself is key. Don't ever say, "Cleric lfs". Say, "DDer lfs". Make sure beforehand that everyone understands you are a DDer. Just brace yourself for the ignorant "that's stupid" and "attack clerics are evil people" responses.

I'ld say get iron heart to 10. I have experience saying a FA cleric (borrowed a high lv FA cleric for testing) will make full use of that in the long run. By lv 60's you'll be using mostly iron heart and your last AoE nuke.

And as far as squads go, just make sure everybody knows what you are and what to expect from you. I became a famous FS cleric (just quill and cyclone for solo questing) in our server even with only resu lv1 (though some did say an FS cleric with only resu lv1 isn't worth **** ~_~).

    Read THIS

Im support cleric and I find this info MORE tha interesting.

Youre a FAC (Full Attack Cleric) and maybe, just to help, a secondary healer. No SP on revive, and just lvl 1 revive. Ironheart? Just one lvl is more than enough to heal YOURSELF.
You attack and deal damage, the healing thing would be for me ie :D

So read the guide, find some nice ppl who are open to new ideas, and enjoy your FAC xD xD

The big thing is, you must make sure your squad knows the second you join, that you are taking a wizard/DD slot. If they went into the FB, without another cleric, and you are the squad's only cleric, they are assuming you are taking the traditional role of a healer. If there is no other healer in the squad, and you let them go into the dungeon without a healer... well your an **** if you don't heal. My suggestion is, if you are trying to squad as an attack cleric. Get yourself a healing cleric as a buddy. Usually people don't complain about a cleric doing the attacking, Unless their isn't someone else healing them, and yes you are right, it is sometimes just people refusing to think differently or note that a cleric can indeed do damage. Really your best bet is to find a regular squad that understands. and stick with them whenever possible.
