Lil Daisy's pet egg

Blacksmith Ho Yi tells me to "Catch a Scout Lynxus for its egg and give it to Lil' Daisy".
I've been killing these things left & right but no egg. Am I wrong? is there another way to "catch" them?

    From ara in skills discussion" (assumes you have Tame animal skill)

    "get the monster down to 1/4 to 1/5 hp at least, then tame it

    you will nearly always suceed like that, the hp of the monster are THE factor determining if taming works or not, forget about the skill level."

    I'm having the same difficulty. What 'button' do you use to 'tame' it. I have the 'tame pet' skill, but have no idea how to use it.

    Hehe, I must have killed nearly 50 of the scouts , untill I reread the quest and realised I was supposed to be taming one ...I think I succeeded after about 3 tries..

    "Tame pet" is a skill just like every other. You drag it onto your hotkey bar, target the monster you want to tame, and cast it.

    Note that it takes a while to cast, and it also helps to have the target on low HP. What I do if I need to tame a high level pet is that I send my golem and cast the tame spell --- if it doesn't succeed then I should still have an idea of how long to wait after the first attack to get the HP down more. I might even find that I can cast a spell of my own initially because the golem might not take off enough HP.

    For sawflies, which are 30+ levels below me, I take off my wand and hit it with fists until it's almost dead. No pet to "help" here.

    u said kill, u need to tame them not kill them, its a skill u get at lv 7
