I mean sheesh people! If there are levels at 40 and so, why can't they answer a simple question so a lower level can recieve the help needed? I have asked a few questions... all but one has gone unanswered. This doesn't say much for the players in the game. I was fortunate last night when a young lady took the time to not only answer my question, but spent an hour with me trying to show me how to do what I was trying to do. Even though I still yet have to get it down, least now I know how to work on it. Double jumping for those inquiring minds. Anyways...there needs to be more people in the game such as Missyu. Hun, I do thank you very much for your help.

So, how about more of you higher levels try and help the lower levels? I'm only a level 12...but I have been helping people from the day I started the game. Is it so hard for others to do the same?

You can review some stuff here: http://perfectworld.com/guide to help you.

Some players like to go off and do their own thing and could care less about helping others.

    Some like to help others.

Kind of like the real world.

It stinks, but you can find a few who like to help.

We were all noobs once, and will be again and again at something else.

I wish people would remember that b:pleased

That's one word i've grown to dislike very much.......noob. But you're right. We all started new and mor people need to remember that. Me personally, I like to go off and do things on my own, but I will help if I can when possible. At least I give respect to others even if I don't know the answer and say so.

    Thanks for the link.

A lot of the time, I'm not watching general or world chat. And when I do have it displaying, there's so much chatter, questions get missed.

It's usually better to whisper to someone and ask if they could help you with some questions. b:victory

I don't have world chat, but you're rigt about lots of chatter.

Checked the link darthpanda, unfortunately..it didn't answer tonights question. Thanks anyways.

Anyone reading this, if someone can answer though, i'd really appreciate it. I found a Short Tooth Kitten Pet Egg by the riverbank the other day. I did manage to find I can't use it since I am a Blademaster, not a Venomancer...so I was wondering how much it was worth.

Same i often cut off the chat cause of newb asking why my armor is glowing, my lvl....or that i have nice boo* who know what lol....

We help sometimes, but we can't keep on leveling AND helping, choice to do sometimes.

Don't forget you have everything on the net to get info (hope i may put those sites):
1 - This site and forum.....so many answer already here
2 - http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi here you can find mob locations, boss, quest, items etc.....
3 - http://1perfectworld.com/ Nice to follow your quest progression lvl by lvl
4 - http://www.ecatomb.net Armors/fashion/pet/mount pictures and stats* (*pet and mount only)

My level may seems high (and yet not that much :p) but i'm still a newb, i've only play a cleric lvl 30 on PWMY release, since i haven't played anymore. So i'm discovering many things and that's fun, but i got all the infos i need from those 4 sites. When i really need help i ask in game.

This would also depend on the people you whisper. Some will help and some won't, some know the answer and some don't. But I think it is the best shot sometimes =) Plus you also have to wait for a reply, don't just assume that someone isn't helping. Maybe they are trying to FULLY give you an answer so they may be able to answer what they know will be your next few questions lol

Just because this kinda fit here too:
    Most MMOs are like that.

I have always been and always will be one of the most helpful people you meet. If someone asks a question and I know the answer, I'll let that person know. But I fully understand why most people don't. And here is why...

When you get to be a higher lvl you will constantly hear the same questions over and over and over... It gets old. Maybe someone who hasn't answered the same question over and over and over will answer. Then here is another reason...

I, as I said, will always help when needed... I get someone who asks a question, I will answer them, either whisper or common chat it. Less than a min. later, they are STILL asking the SAME question. Sometimes I will help someone and they will then go on to ask me to give them items, asking me to lvl them, just things like that. I don't mind helping and I am sure you can go on to ask me over the period of your 100 lvls a million and one questions, it wouldn't bother me. But when I get the silly item/money/lvling requests, it bothers me.

I will keep helping people out though, just how I am. But also asking questions such as "Where is Archy?" It kinda is a put off, because in the start of the game you do go through a tut, which then tells you how to open your map by pressing M on your keyboard or clicking the M in the circle in the top right corner of your screen.

So yeah some people have to understand that you may not get the help you need because yes, it kinda annoys the people who do have the answers. Other players besides this may have the answers but are too involved in what they are doing to pay attention to the chat.

Also when you do get to Archy, for anyone who wonders, the telemaster... You can find it by pressing that icon that looks like a target X with the pointer pointing at it and it will pop up a screen, which then shows you the NPCs in the area. If you see the telemaster on that list, double click, poof! Arrow to that telemaster =)

Ok not all of it fit... But it's an answer =P

Its not the people don't want to answer your quests, but most of the time they prob won't even see your question. I for one, will always be in guild or squad chat, so if you try to talk to me on world chat (white chat), there is literally zero chance i'll see it. However, I do have a few lower level friends that would whisper me questions once in a while and i'll try to answer them. But also keep in mind, its been a while since i worked on lower level quests. And chances are, i might not remember where some of the mobs are or how to finish a quest.

If you get stuck and can't find quests, press Q to bring up the quest menu, then click on Find Quests over and over.

I will write down the name of the NPC, and coordinates given (if given), then type them into the coordinates assistant (top right near your mini-map) to direct myself.

    Then off I go.

Well, I can definately say i'm impressed with the forums to this game. I've gotten more help here in the past few minutes than I have on a single question, sept last night since i've started. And yes, I do understand that it takes time to get an answer...but when an hour passes...it's not likely the question will be answered. :)

And thank you Sharmista, I will definately check those links out.

I do have to say, even without questions being answered...I find the people in this game to have much better essance than where I came from. The people in the other game I play are so rude it ain't funny.

We try to help keep the forums and game running nice and civil.

We do wield the ban hammers and ban sabers well.

Remember mean people out there, EVERYTHING YOU DO is logged in-game.

We try to help out as much as we can, as soon as we can, but it depends on what shifts people are working, going to school, etc; depends on when you will get replies from Mods or Admins here on the forums.

So be nice, and play nice please b:pleased

Darthpanda "find quest" don't work for the seven breve quests :p (i know i miss one of them like that ^^), but almost all quest can be found like that, it's really handful when use with the coordonate assistant too :)

Lord Biorn, being in a faction will also really help you. You can play without a faction of course (i did it till lvl 42) but it's easy to lvl, getting help or team (unless it's a fb19 or 29 many hlvl will gladly help you because of your tabs lol). Or try to make some friends.

Certainly not ! I may be a NEWBIE, but I did took care to read the help ( press L ingame ) and the official site so I was not wandering around completely clueless and asking very simple questions that are answered there or which answer could be guessed with plain horse sense, and it only took me 10-15 minutes.

A NOOB, on the contrary, is too lazy/stupid to do it and 99% of the time when you start explaining them the mechanics of the game they yell NAAAH I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW TO DO <insert a task here> . Here's a perfect example of a noob : http://video.google.fr/videoplay?docid=-2816054581258299445&hl=fr

Noobs don't need experience, they need a brain.

When a fellow player asks some genuine Newbie questions in my hearing range, I usually help him if I'm not already on something. Noobs on the other hand are not worthy of my time because they'll never evolve.

No offense, but sometimes doing a little reading can answer your questions for you.... I've never had to ask for help in ANY MMORPG..... EVER, maybe it's just me, but I take satisfaction in being independant and being able to find the answers for myself......... and it does get annoying when you are asked the same questions over and over.

That being said, I do like to help when I have the time, I ecspecially enjoy randomly helping those who seem to help themselves, but I'm not afraid to answer a question or two either, sometimes I'm just too busy to be bothered however, if you havent yet noticed, this game involves alot of running around from one town to the next, clean across the map for completeing quests and such..... sometimes stopping to help others is simply not in our best interest.

This reminds me of when I started. I had a very very simple question, it was so simple no one had it in their guide.

"Why is my bow red?" (Answer: Because I had ran out of arrows and didn't realise).

I asked 2 hours in game and on the forums, only by chance had a nice person answer me in game. It was a silly question but at that time it befuddled me like you wouldn't believe. So whenever asks a question when I'm around I'll help.

However, you DO have to see the other side of the coin. How can someone answer you if they don't know the answer themselves? I'm moderately high in lvl yet sometimes people asks questions I have no idea how to answer, even more so when it's class specific and I did not play the class.

When you ask a question, don't do it in the starter towns, chances are, no one in hearing range will be able to help you because they themselves don't know it. Silence isn't always because people are mean, lazy, or arrogant. More often than not people are silent because they don't know the answer and no one's every whispd me with "Sorry, I don't know" when asking a general question, they just kept quiet.

    This games pretty user friendly.
It has all the tools you need to learn the game.
The reason why many people won't answer your question is because one too many times, people simply do not try and find things out for themselves.

Asking questions when you really don't know what to do is fine ,but asking questions when there is obviously an answer out there on a guide or on the forums is simply unacceptable. (Especially when there is a search function on these forums).

I mean, would you still answer someone if 50 other people have asked you "Where is ____ elder?! duurrr"

Yes. Did that just last night.

Somebody in Arch was asking where the teleporter was (that's one of the common questions in Arch). So I whispered to him to click on the coordinates assistant etc..... Now, when he needs to find something, he'll know how to. One less person asking that question! haha b:victory

Maybe we should all spend about 5 or 10 minutes a day in the starting cities answering questions. I might have to try that =)

It is ironic that we have all these responses and no answer to the question. Then again, the nature of this question may be why you are getting no answers. Frankly, I don't know what the value of this egg is. Since you can't use it, the value to you is possibly even negative (since it fills a potentially valuable inventory or bank slot). I think eggs have a value of 1 coin with NPCs. But, I think you really wanted to know how much people will pay for this egg and whether you would be making a big error by dropping it (or selling it for the 1 coin). Again, I can't help you there. In-game trading has some serious limitations. Since, at your level, you are probably not soon going anywhere that you can expect to find a lot of demand for eggs, I'd guess the transaction cost to you of even trying to sell this thing are high enough to just forget about it. BUt, I could be wrong - this could be an extremely rare item. I doubt it. But, since I don't know anything about eggs, I would have ignored your question if I saw it in-game. However, if you had asked me how to do the leap quest (and I was in that area) I'd be happy to show you.

I'm not big on stopping what I'm doing and answering questions in game. That's what the guides and this forum is for. I have asked a few questions in game, but I'm not offended if there's not answered. I have also answered several questions in game but don't feel its my responsibility. It's no ones responsibility outside a persons guild to answer another's question, IMO.

Here's a few sure fire ways to guarantee I ignore your question.

    1. Use all caps.

    2. Whisper me and say, 'Can i ask you a question?' For me you best just ask your question. Either i see it and choose to answer or i don't. I have had too many people in MMORPG's give the nice 'Hi, I need help. Can i ask a question please?'. You stop to talk with then and you get the 'Can you give me 50k gold or can you power level me or can you kill such and such boss.

Another question I hate is when people want you to price an item for them. That is not basic information you need to play the game. That's an advance opinion question, that you need to formulate, by studying the market ,and determining it yourself. Also how greedy you are versus how fast you want to sell the item and clear space in your bag changes that answer for each individual.

    3. If your in a guild, do not ask a barrage of questions in a short time frame. If have been in guilds before and there's always a few that just cant figure anything out. Its just a barrage of goofy questions one after the other before the first can even be answered. I suggest you try to limit yourself to 1 or 2 questions in a day, otherwise members will start to ignore you.

I would like to hear others opinions on question asking etiquette, so some noobs may understand why they are ignored.

By the way, an egg is worth nothing. That's why I always drop some here and there when I need space and I'm back from a capture round, or when I captured something to see how it would grow and didn't satisfy me.
