I'm pretty sure it's not normal. Bosses should NOT go into cities. The cities are supposed to be considered as a safe zone.

"Safe zone" means "no-pk zone". Bosses can be lured (although I think it's agains ToS...?) to some towns. Anyways, the moss common one is the luring of Ch'in to angler village, but it can happen with some bosses at any town/village without guards (guards can 1-hit any monster, including bosses).

So probably someone lured the boss you're talking about...

Yeah sounds like someone lured that boss there and that is a bannable offence.

yeah, it's not normal having boss in a city. somebody lured it there.

Gaaaaaah!! That reminds me! Someone lured the Ch'in to Orchid Temple (I mean, THERE?! It's sooo far away, even pass the Angler Village!) and the boss killed about 12-15 people there. >< It's not in PWI though, but I wish I did know who did that.... Is it really bannable??

btw luring bosses this way is flaw in developing of game, there is enough evidences of such malevolent behavior of smart_****_self_thinking_idiots who suppose this to be greatest possible fun. in fact boss shall lose agro to player who exits some predefined perimeter of it's initial patrolling path (for a difference of instance where agro is lost only upon death or leaving instance). banning such people is not enough measure, there should be found permanent solution so bosses do not leave their area.

Some people might not purposely lure a boss into a city; they might've accidently pulled aggro and thought running into town would lose aggro

In fact, if they put invisible walls for bosses, people will abuse those xD The right thing to do would be simply to add guards in most villages, since guards can kill anything one-hit. I honestly don't know why they never did it in most places.

No. Because the first dangerous boss that can be lured is Ch'in, which you have to kill around level 40. By that time, if a boss follows you, you won't run 2km through hundreds of mobs to get to a town. You simply will fly, or swim (Ch'in is on a beach). When a boss is in a town, it's 99%+ because someone lured it there.

If this is the same incident, there was a thread where the "perpetrator" discussed what he had done and asked for some GM guidance. There was a lot of debate about it because he deliberately did not bring Chin into any safe zones, but did surprise a lot of people who were out by the Hero'es Tomb entrance. A moderator suggested that deliberately using a mob to kill another player who was not in a PvP mode might be considered "interfering with their enjoyment of the game" and might lead to a several day ban. I got the impression that this was not quite as clear-cut a case as the people who deliberately lure a boss into a safe zone. Of course, even that is not always clear. I've seen lots of people stumble upon Krixxix, run up the hill toward Orchid Temple, and end up with Krixxix pacing the wall picking off people who were not ready for that particular challenge. Code changes would not really stop that from happening. You would need to move Krixxix's spawn point further from the road (and from the Temple safe zone). Moreover, it adds extra spice to know that a boss may not only be too much for you to handle, he may hunt you for quite a long way if you try and run. I would not like to see that aspect go away just because of the potential to see the boss when you did not expect to.

Wouldn't people abuse the guard too? Or, do these magic guard kills automatically take the credit for the boss kill?

Of course, as long as we are dreaming up improvements that won't happen, I'd like to vote now for a special boss ("Streetsweeper") to periodically get loose and mow down the cat shops in Archosaur. Now that would be a civic improvement.

Simply create a leash limit on the boss... if it gets too far out of it's patrol area within a predetermined time (30 seconds?) it will automatically run back to its spawn point and regenerate all health to full .. just like how they do it in wow when some guild think its funny to lure raid bosses (that require 40 people to kill to a city).

I've seen Krixxix in orchid temple, given thats not quite a town, but the 2 are very close together in proximity, and not everyone who will venture to that area can fly yet.

If you jump over the western wall of Orchid Temple you practically land in Kirixx' lap, and he's like a dozen level above the average pc doing their quests for that area.

I found a way to get a boss in ADC but not too long before I found that they made it a bannable offense >< Seeing a boss whipe out the hundreds of people in west ADC would have made an epic SS b:laugh if I ever stopped playing, I'd want that to be my exit.

Here Here, I'll second that one. When i go from seamless play to one frame per second due to all the clutter.... there is a serious problem.
As for the boss lured to the city thing.... even people that can't fly have an option. RUN. Seriously, i've outrun bosses a number of times... and as long as you don't get too close, you don't get nailed by an AoE attacks it uses. Also, regardless of whether you can fly or not.... everyone can jump, Mobs can't.

Hehe, I'm glad I've never truly witnessed this. The only boss I've accidentally pulled from its spot was the guy by Krixxix. (Thankfully not Krixxix himself! b:shocked) I was on my way to the Swordmaster and couldn't fly yet. I was new to the area. I didn't know he was a boss. So I kept running, dragged him to that low laying wall. Thank God for that. He would've chased me forever apparently...

Ever since level 30 I just take the air and ascend until the hits stop. Once they stop targeting me, I return to the ground.

My guess is he disappeared because a GM got enough "OMG WE'RE GETTING MASS KILLED! BOSS IN CITY!!!! GAAAH!" messages.
