Hi, could someone please explain to me why should we make a BM?

People wants tigers as tanks and dmg class they pick nukers and pulls left for Veno's ... so where do BM fits in?

Please share your thoughts about this and what role you have played on your BM :)

Also share how it was for you to level one up to the level you are today.

Thank you.

BM's are the catch-alls. With a proper build you can off-tank, deal damage, and keep mobs/players stunned.
It takes a big man to cry, but a bigger man to laugh at him.

    agreed....and we have one advantage...

we are the ones which deals bloody aoe (mage can too, but cannot spam it like bm's can)

    aoe over aoe ^^

Well im still a noob ( have not played on any other servers) but just from my exp, Blademasters can do everything fairly well. Less tank than Barb, but more damage, less damage than mage/archer classes but way more abiltiy to tank. As stated above the thing they are the best at is stun and spam aoe which no other class can do. Also i would say the easiest time of soloing other than a veno. So all around good class.

I have never seen any ask for a OT, i always seen people ask for tanks and dmg and heal when they need groups.

So could a axe BM tank? Would you invite the BM to be tank?

And please be honest when you reply on the matter!

Blademasters can tank, and their defence can fly far higher than a barbarian's can due to their sutras. However, since they don't have a skill that pulls as much aggro as a barb's ripping bite, they're not preferred unless you have no damage dealers, or at least damage dealers that are of a significantly lower level than the blademaster.

So this means, if i wanna be sure to get a party later on in lvls i should rather spend my time lvling up a barb beast?

Uh... if you absolutely want to be 100% required for a party, then yes, a barbarian would be a better choice. People like taking warriors along anyway though, for their pdef buff and aoe stun.

The Blademaster is definitely not a specialized class. They aren't a true tanker, thats the Barbarian, and they aren't true damage dealers(mages and archers). The website may say they are damage dealers, but that's not exactly true. I feel like out of all the classes, you would choose the Blademaster because it is the most adaptable class out there. The blademaster has various skills that allow it to take on really any class, such as the change Marrow to increase physical defense or magical defense. This with light armor can give decent magical defense for about 30 seconds. The only problem you will have in PVP is possibly the Axe Wielding Skill Path against an Archer, especially if you go max str. Personally as an Axe wielder, I sacrifice having the best possible axe for my level, to have more dexterity.
One thing that I find helpful in this is my blacksmith crafting. Usually, I can get lucky and get -10% requirements or even -20%. Also, to help out with my accuracy, my recently crafted double gold axes have a special skill called Nimble which increases accuracy by 150-250 points.
In summary, you would choose the blademaster because it can adapt to any situation and does not have a distinct build, which leads for the player freedom to choose their own playing style.

BM is an overall class for all.
It can tank, but not as great like a Barb.
It can deal dmg, but not as good as archer or mage.
It have self healing =P But of course not as good as cleric.
It's fast in leveling, but not as good as Veno...

    Hence, its an overall class..

Depending on build, BM can tank. Of course not a dual axe/blade as I believe they pump more on dex, rather than vit.

Though I'm not that high lvl (At about lvl 45), I can solo FB19, FB29, or even tank Chin and lvl 40-50 boss. Perhaps my build in the start, is more to Barb's build.... Hence, I cant deal much damage like a dual axe/blade does...
Cherish what you have now... Do not regret when you lose it... =)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

BM's Phys Def Buff can help Barbs tank, their stuns can save the party Hieros and rescue spellcasters, their AoE allows them to deal good damage to multiple mobs. However as it has been already stated, they are really a jack of all trades and master of none. Their Marrow alterations, Leaps and AoEs could be devastating in the hands of skilled players though.

One downside as an Axe BM however is the MP cost of skills is very high relative to the other paths of BMs, but if you can gather 3-4 mobs up then it becomes much more efficient.

in later FBs, HH , aoe parties, it requires 1 or 2 BMs to stun otherwise clerics or archers wont be able to hold their BBs or baraages up.

wow i know this was a really old post, but you could tank chin at level 45 !?

but a blademaster's ability to stunlock make them invaluable at high levels

Wow, this is an old thread. It is possible to tank Chin at that level range, though. When I got that quest, I could only find a cleric and two other blademasters. Not knowing any better, we went after Chin. I had the ironheart spamming while the other two coped with the AOE as best they could, but we all made it. Then again, surviving something like that is often more about the healer than the tank. Take it from me, if you hear "The BM will tank while the wizzys heal" it is okay to be worried.
