Is PWI Ban-Trigger Happy?

Hi all,

I have a little question that has been going through my mind and I'd like to know if I'm the only one. Is PWI "Ban-Trigger Happy"?

Let me explain myself. So far, more than 22 of my friends and family members have been banned at least once without warning for an undetermined amount of time. I also have been banned and I had to ask my husband to step in from his account.

It seems that each time one of us tries to get Zen, we get banned for no apparent reason and without warning. Actually, the last time, 10 referral friends got banned in one go because I had the maddest of ideas to be generous and give some Zen to 1 of them.

If this has happened to no one else than me then I guess I'm just hated for some obscure reason to me. If it has happened to some of you out there, let the GMs know about it. In the end, it is us which bring the meat on their plates. So why so much hate towards us?

Also, if the GMs could let me know of PRECISE reasons (or examples) why we can be banned without warning, it would help a lot. Because I really feel that next time I'm banned, I won't be bothered to come back, and I will take my numerous friends with me.

But please remember, this thread is not the place to insult PWI or the way they do things. It's just to let them know that it may be best if they where less strick (or more comprehensive). b:surrender

    Hi Yoitsu:

I understand the nature of the discussion you'd like to have - unfortunately we do not allow public discussions of ban policy & ban actions to take place on these boards.

please refer to our Forum Rules of Conduct:

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=63291

    for further clarification.

    Specifcally, Rules #17 & 18:

    17. No representing banned members.
Don't represent any banned individuals. They were banned for a reason. Assisting them in any way or form will lump you in the same boat.

    18. No public discussion about disciplinary action administered to members.
If you have any questions regarding rules, disciplinary actions, user bans, or even a thread move, please use the Customer Support Ticketing System or PM function of the board to contact us.

If you would like further clarification on any of the bans you mentioned above please contact Customer Support through their ticketing system.

    Gracias!

Also, if the GMs could let me know of PRECISE reasons (or examples) why we can be banned without warning, it would help a lot.

They don't need a reason to ban you without warning. You agreed to that when you initially signed up.

    From the TOS:

"Please note that regardless of any notice, PWE reserves the right to discontinue the Service or to terminate or suspend your account at any time in its sole discretion for any reason, or for no reason."

That being said, they don't ban without reason, but your inquiry should have been submitted via their Ticketing System, not a public "woe is me" outcry.

I understand what you posted TheShazzbot but would it be possible to have some guidelines laid out on the forums somewhere that explains that....if you do this, you will be banned. In like the past week there has been many people posting about being banned or their friends being banned and perhaps some things are not clearly explained as to what you will get banned for doing. It almost seems that lately people are just starting to come across something that is getting them banned but yet they have no idea what it is for. Letting others know without specifying names what people have been doing lately that is getting them banned would be a good thing I would think. At this point I'd hate to do something unknowingly that would get me banned. I'm having fun in this game and don't want to do something suddenly that gets me banned without even knowing that I was going to get banned for it.

    Just my thoughts, thanks.

basically, GM's use the policies listed on this page to determine disciplinary (eg - ban) action:

    http://support.perfectworld.com/violation

Disciplinary action in regards to Forums conduct is based on the info from this page:

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=63291

GM's don't really read/follow these boards as closely as our Community Admins do so if a user is wondering why they were banned in-game its just more practical to contact them through their ticketing system (that is a 100% sure way of getting your question read by someone with the ability to give a proper answer).

On the other hand if a user wants to know why he/she was banned on the Forums then by all means feel free to contact the community admins (eg - myself, xarfox, dvorak, darthpanda16, surtr, etc).

Daddy told me to close this thread, so close this thread I shall.

one final note: if a user is banned by a GM for an in-game violation they will ALWAYS be given a reason why such action was carried out. If the reason for a ban is somewhat complicated the GM will also send an email with a more thorough explanation. This email also has a return address so that the user in question can conduct a dialogue with the GM in question.

that is all i have for now.
