Ok...does anyone know the best mobs to kill for purified oil drops ....I have done every quest I can find in this game and have yet to find more than 3 bottles of this stuff for crafting .....its way too expensive to pick up on the sales floor in West Arch
Also....is there any type of pet shrink in this game....Love my rock pet but he is in my face ALL the time and makes it hard to target on my small computer screen .
Thanks

I believe the spiders, scorpions and that weird woman spider thing south of Archosaur and around Hidden Orchid have the highest drop rate.
Also the giant Magmite is the reason I used a Jaden Qingfu instead. It wasn't that bad except I spent 200k to give it an attack skill when I could have just caught a level 3 beetle that has one already.0 -
You can use 'hold position' and 'follow' to keep it out of your targeting area.0

or jump and then click to mob, thats what i always do and others dun get why im jumping all the time0

Also, holding down the shift key will let you click on npc and mobs thurgh PCs/and pets.:)0

Generally, it's a good idea to kill 20-30 of each thing within your level range, even when not required by a quest, just to see what drops. Many of those things which end up selling high (DQ items mostly) are things which aren't dropped regularly by those quest mobs.
For all mid-low materials, you are best off trying to farm as much as you can of each before hitting level 40. Once past level 40, the drop rate tends to be much lower, and your options for what you can farm become fewer. Also, keep in mind that the material prices are as high as they are because everyone else is trying to raise their craft skills, just to make their own equipment. This means that you will probably earn more selling the raw materials than you will from using them. The crafting quests for level 4 crafting (only available at level 50) can also require ALOT of many materials, so even if you spend most of your time outside quests farming materials, you may only end up with enough to raise one trade to level 4.
As for pets, this is why many people use other pets for most of their leveling, and save the golem mostly for times when they need a tank. Alternative tanks would be Quingfu, (with 300k-600k spent in pet skills) Beetles, level 8 tauroks, bloodthirsty adawolf, frog, shadu cub, and a few others. They may not tank as well as the golem, but can do well enough in most situations. The golem however still has certain advantages because of its size.0
