Skill Issues..

I'm new to this game and i found out that you can have a tame skill for a venomancer..
well, i tried to go get the quest for it except there's no quest for the skill o.o;;
no idea what i did wrong unless you're supposed to have the quest at level 7 o.o?

so, if i didn't get the quest at level 7, i have to start over? o.o;

It should be impossible to avoid getting. Please check your quest log, and make sure that there's no relevant quest portions at the Pet Skill Trainers.
