Duke wraith "event"

So I was wondering...

I just attended my first one of these a couple minutes ago, having ignored the red system message all the times prior to today, and I really can't figure out the point of killing a bunch of spawned mobs. (or trying to kill, as there is the rampant killstealing, accidental and otherwise.)

Do the spawned mobs have a chance of dropping something good and that's it? or is there more to it? All I saw drop was a bunch of random **** that drops from any other mob anywhere.

Wraith tags drop + to your rep which later on you will want.

Celestones drop frequently which go towards mirages.

They also drop a lot of DQ items. Even if the dq's are only lvl 21 you can still make at least 20k coins. I've also gotten crusade orders which turn into wanted scrolls and different types of gems.

So these "invasion" things are PvP events? The rich people with perfect armor and high damage, able to just run through the area bagging everything they come across killstealing everyone nearby get 99% of the drops?

Good to know. Always thought it works like any other "Invasion" event in F2P world, but confirmation is always useful.

From the higer level ones like the lvl 60+ mobs you can make somewhere between 70-200k coins per event from the DQ drops.

From the few of these I've attended, it seems like there is a pattern to the locations and the level range of the mobs (with raid mobs being "close" to the level of mobs that would normally be around that location). Is this true? It sure would be nice not to have to run/fly halfway across the game world to find out the raid mobs are out of my league.

Yes, the invasion mobs are near the level of regular mobs around the area (rounded to the nearest 10, 20, 30, 40, 50... etc lvls).

I've never seen a wraith invasion where the mobs were lower than level 20 so thats probably the minimum level.

i've attended a lower level one and got not a thing from it seeing as the level 50+ people were KSing monsters left and right, all in all, its nice when you can grab the monsters, but the high chance of KS makes it a royal pain

I had fun at a invasion way out of my level range recently a group of us from radiance (and little partys from all the big guilds it seemed) were bagging level 70 wraith taurocs, made soemthing like 80k even though we were sharing was fun.

KSing is simply a matte rof numbers versus wraiths it is amazingly liable to happen at these things just carry on through it and just sort of ignore the ksing, if you watch the monsters spawn in the same places so simply camp a spawn point.

I have attended these and love them.....now that I am 52

When I was a starting out I could not even get a kill at the level 20 spwns. So I ran around trying to pick up stuff and could not. could not get a kill so basically i walked away w/very few of anything to sell for cash.
Now that I am a higher level I can actually get the kills and get some decent items to sell. best I have done is 80K.

I leave the level 20 spwns to the lower levels tho and do not go to them if I know it will be a level 20 spawn. I actually make less at those due to the fact that I cannot get the drops as frequently since my level is so much higher than the mobs. But, sometimes I go and find out that it is a level 20 spwn. I stay and do what I can.

I go to the level 70 spwns but at my level it is as though I was just starting out. get two hits and someone else takes out the spwn, drops happen and I cannot pick them up.. Sigh!
The key here is to have a party so you get some of the random drops. Now that I am in a guild that actually helps their other players I have no trouble finding a party for these events.

It actually is fun to run around during a free for all and try to do your best. It is an intense 15 mins or so. But you lose exp if you die.. and if your outclassed...you die. :)

At my current level I have a personal preference to go to the Anglers villages ones (level 40 wraiths) since I have some what memorized all the spawn points at the back end of the village >.<

It can be fun and it can be simply **** but thats simply the way with everything no?

Best you can do is at least give it a try.
