A few questions..

Okay, just started PW, friend had pointed it out to me and wanted me to try it out. So far I've enjoyed it. Have about 8 or 9 years of experience in MMOs, and so far it is one of the ones I like *shrugs*
I've always been the "Melee DPS" type, and always go for the monk style class when available. So obviously I saw fist weapons and jumped at them. Only problem is, I've gotten to level 24 so far, and noticed people around me killed so much faster. So I picked up the dual swords for lvl 24.
Went and attacked a random mob a couple of times with each weapon equipped. Pure melee, no special attacks. Rough timing was 8 or 9 seconds per mob on fist weapons, 4-5 seconds for swords.

This leads into my question: What weapon do I want to spec for, for the fastest kills. Don't care if this means slow and high damage, or low damage/fast. My playstyle generally revolves around 'Kill it before it kills me'. Don't care about PVP, and I don't group much, prefer solo play.
Thinking axes would be it, but not sure, so figured I'd ask people who have played longer than I have.

The next question would be about armor, more specifically the earrings/necklaces/belts. Haven't been real sure on how the stats work on PW, so which would be better? The evasion or the physical defense? I'm used to EQ's system where Avoidance stat is extremely important, and will save massive amounts of damage, so I'm leaning evasion, but figured I'd ask.

Oh, and a note on an answer for the weapon spec. I don't care if I have to make a new character in order to spec the weapon (I know if Axes turn out to be it, I'm most likely going to need a new character, seeing as how he doesn't have the strength for axes)
Thanks

people will give you different opinions on what is best. just look at all the blademaster guides to help you decide whats best. this game is very geared towards teamwork. lots of quests involve having a party (or squad in game) to complete them. you won't go far in this game if you go solo, especially if you're a blademaster, no matter what weapon you use.

Well, prefer solo play, but will do groups. Basically was just curious as to which weapon was possibly going to be the fastest killing. Could say the same thing about me soloing on other games, but I manage with it.. As far as gear and such goes, I never really have cared about getting group/raid gear.. I purely play to entertain myself.

But, I did make a new character to try out axes. Gotten him to 11 so far, enjoying the faster kills.
will see what happens later on. If I stop enjoying it, I have other games to turn back to *shrugs*

I think the best weapon for your playing style is the single sword/blade. Fast attacking speed, high damage and great skills for 1 on 1 battles (stun, knock back...and more). You should try it. b:victory

I would suggest you continue your dex build and do single blade like everyone else is saying. Around lvl 80 you will have enough SP to pick fist back up. Depending on your situation, some fist skills will really come in handy. From what I have been told high end game fist bm's are pretty excellent.

Pretty much think about going hybrid. Fist and single blade. (Since both require high dex, and it will give you the evasion you want.)
It takes a big man to cry, but a bigger man to laugh at him.
